Leimistin Broussan
Leimistin Broussan (3 November 1858 – 1 October 1959) was a French theatre and opera manager. Life Born in Vauvert (Gard department), Broussan successively directed the municipal theatre of Brest (1898-1899), the municipal theatre of Nancy (1899-1902) then the Théâtre des Célestins and the Grand Théâtre de Lyon (1902-1906), before becoming co-director, with André Messager, of the Paris Opera from 1908 to 1914. He married Madeleine Lagarde, daughter of Paul Lagarde (1851-1903) and Jeanne Samary. Broussan died in Paris on 1 October 1959. Vauvert
Vauvert (; oc, Vauverd) is a commune in the far south of the Gard department in southern France. It was known as ''Posquières'' in the Middle Ages. The commune comprises the town of Vauvert and the villages of Gallician and Montcalm.Vauvert at Carmargue.fr accessed 11 August 2007 Over a third of the population work in industry, which is largely the food industry, especially wine production. The original settlement was called Posquières and was first mentioned in a document of 810. Since then the town has increased in importance and has had a rich history. At its heyday in the mid-nineteenth century it had a population of 6,000 but this decreased by a third after disease struck the grape crop, the mainstay of the economy of the area. Today, the population has grown again to over 11,000. |

Jacques Louis Eugène Rouché (16 November 1862, Lunel - 9 November 1957, Paris) was a French art and music patron. He was the owner of the journal ''La Grande Revue'' and manager of the Théâtre des Arts and the Paris Opera. Biography He was born to a Protestant family. Pedro Gailhard
Pedro or Pierre Gailhard, full name Pierre Samson Gailhard, (1 August 1848 – 12 October 1918) was a French opera singer and theatre director. Gifted with an exceptional singing bass voice, Pedro Gailhard made his debut at the Opéra-Comique in December 1867, then sang at the Opéra Garnier, as Mephisto in ''Faust'' by Charles Gounod in 1871, a role which he also sang at Covent Garden. His interprétation of Leporello in ''Don Giovanni'' by Mozart was considered remarkable, as was his portrayal of other roles, such as Osmin in Mozart's ''Die Entführung aus dem Serail'', Kaspar in Weber's ''Der Freischütz'', the King in Thomas' ''Hamlet'', Pythéas in Gounod's '' Sapho'', Saint-Bris and Nevers in Meyerbeer's ''Les Huguenots'', and Faust in Boito's ''Mefistofele''.
