Legnica is a Polish parliamentary constituency in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.''The Act of 5 January 2011 - Election Code''Coll. Laws of 2011 No. 21, item. 113 as amended.) It elects twelve members of the Sejm and three members of the Senate. The district has the number '1' and is named after the city of Legnica. Złotoryja County
__NOTOC__ Złotoryja County ( pl, powiat złotoryjski) is a unit of territorial administration and local government (powiat) in Lower Silesian Voivodeship, south-western Poland. It came into being on January 1, 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998. The county covers an area of . Its administrative seat is Złotoryja, and it also contains the towns of Wojcieszów and Świerzawa. As of 2019 the total population of the county is 43,719, out of which the population of Złotoryja is 15,564, that of Wojcieszów is 3,668, that of Świerzawa is 2,286, and the rural population is 22,201. Małgorzata Helena Sekuła-Szmajdzińska (born 19 April 1956) is a Polish lawyer and politician. Biography Born in Warsaw, she moved to Wrocław at a young age. She studied at University of Wrocław, and as a lawyer she worked at the Ministry of Justice. Electoral history She ran unsuccessfully to the Warsaw city council in 2006, but in 2010 she was elected to the council. In 2011 she was elected to the Sejm. In 2015, despite getting individual votes, she was not elected as the Democratic Left Alliance did not pass the electoral threshold as a list. In May 2019 she ran for MeP, but was not elected. The New Left (, NL) is a social-democratic political party in Poland. It is positioned on the centre-left on the political spectrum. Its leaders are Włodzimierz Czarzasty and Robert Biedroń. It was formed in 2021, as a merger of the Democratic Left Alliance (SLD) and Spring, although the plans for the merge began in 2020. Marzena Machałek
Marzena Anna Machałek (born 29 August 1960) is a Polish politician who has served in the Sejm since 5 December 2006 as a member of the Law and Justice party. Born in Wrocław, she graduated from the University of Wrocław in 1992 with a degree in Polish philology. She spent the 1980s and 1990s working as a teacher, and was also part of the Solidarity movement. In 1998 she was elected to Kamienna Góra County's council, and served as the deputy mayor as well. In 2006, she was nominated to the Sejm to finish out Jan Zubowski's term, who was elected mayor of Głogów. After finishing up the term, Machałek has since been re-elected to three more terms in the Legnica district. She received 11,109 votes in 2007, 11,812 votes in 2011, and 14,608 votes in 2015. Adam Lipiński
Adam Józef Lipiński, is an economist, editor and lecturer, as well as a founder of the Law and Justice party in Lower Silesia. Life He was born in 1956, and is a graduate from II Secondary School in Legnica and the Wrocław University of Economics. He has worked at the “Hanka” Garment Factory in Legnica, and was a member of the Regional Board of the NSZZ "S" ( Solidarity) in Wrocław and was an activist in the democratic opposition. In the 1970s, he was a member of the Student Committee of Solidarity, then the spokesman of the Committee for Social Self-defence in Legnica. Law and Justice ( pl, Prawo i Sprawiedliwość , PiS) is a right-wing populist and national-conservative political party in Poland. Its chairman is Jarosław Kaczyński. It was founded in 2001 by Jarosław and Lech Kaczyński as a direct successor of the Centre Agreement after it split from the Solidarity Electoral Action (AWS). Robert Kropiwnicki (born 23 July 1974) is a Polish politician. He has been a member of the Sejm since 2010 representing the constituency of Legnica. In 2010, he replaced Janusz Mikulicz in the Sejm (6th term) and Kropiwnicki was re-elected in 2011 and in 2015 (7th and 8th term of the Sejm respectively). Civic Coalition (Poland)
The Civic Coalition ( pl, Koalicja Obywatelska, KO)) is a catch-all political alliance in Poland. The alliance was formed around Civic Platform in opposition to the ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party. The coalition's name uses a play on words with ''Ja Obywatel'', which translates to "I, Citizen".
