Legislative Assembly Of Bahia
The Legislative Assembly of Bahia ( pt, Assembleia Legislativa da Bahia) is the unicameral legislature of Bahia state in Brazil, it's currently based on Administrative Center of Bahia in Salvador. It has 63 state deputies elected by proportional representation. The legislative power of Bahia began with the General Council of the Province in 1828, it had 21 members and had only the function of suggesting laws for the General Assembly of the Empire. In 1835 the Provincial Assembly was actually created, from the first to the 11th legislature the Assembly functioned in the Convento do Carmo, in 1858 it started to function next to the Paço Municipal, from 1891 the assembly became bicameral where the chamber and the Senate functioned in different buildings, during the Estado Novo in 1947 the legislature became unicameral again. The Brazilian Democratic Movement ( pt, Movimento Democrático Brasileiro, MDB) is a Brazilian political party. It is considered a " big tent party" and it is one of the parties with the greatest representation throughout the national territory, with the most numbers of senators, mayors and city councillors, always having formed a large plurality at the National Congress since 1988, and also has the largest number of affiliates, with 2,131,547 members as of 2022. Originally, the MDB was founded on 1965 as part of an enforced two party system by the Brazilian military dictatorship, providing an official, if controlled, opposition. The Vargas Era (Portuguese: ''Era Vargas''; ) is the period in the history of Brazil between 1930 and 1945, when the country was governed by president Getúlio Vargas. The period from 1930 to 1937 is known as the Second Brazilian Republic, and the other part of Vargas Era, from 1937 until 1946 is known as the Third Brazilian Republic (or ''Estado Novo''). The Brazilian Revolution of 1930 marked the end of the First Brazilian Republic.
