Legal Weapon
Legal Weapon were a Southern California-based punk band, initially composed of singer Kat Arthur and guitarist Brian Hansen (both previously of the Silencers), bassist Patricia Morrison (formerly of Bags and later of the Gun Club, the Sisters of Mercy and the Damned), drummer Charlie Vartanian and guitarist Mike R. Livingston. The band's early full-length albums ''Death of Innocence'' (on which their lineup included Steve Soto and Frank Agnew of the Adolescents) and '' Your Weapon'' were well received. Later efforts moved away from punk to a more hard rock sound. The band released one album on a major label, 1988's '' Life Sentence to Love'', during a period in which they were signed to MCA Records. With her powerful voice, Arthur was often called "the Janis Joplin of punk". She died October 14, 2018, at the age of 62. ''Dudes'' is a 1987 American independent film directed by Penelope Spheeris, written by Randall Jahnson, and starring Jon Cryer, Catherine Mary Stewart, Daniel Roebuck, and Lee Ving. ''Hell Comes to Your House'' is an American deathrock and punk compilation of Southern California bands. It is notable for releasing the first ever Christian Death song "Dogs", as well as including the first studio recordings of Social Distortion and one of the earliest performances of Redd Kross. The album was originally released in 1981 but reissued in 1998. The 1981 release goes for about $50. Engineer Randy Burns went on to produce other punk, thrash and death metal bands including Suicidal Tendencies, Death, Possessed, and Megadeth. The album credits the producer of "Dogs" as Mike Patton. This is not the Ipecac Recordings label head/Faith No More singer, Mike Patton. This Mike Patton was in the band Middle Class and he also produced The Blue Album by the influential Orange County band, Adolescents as well as the '' Danger Zone'' EP by China White. Janis Lyn Joplin (January 19, 1943 – October 4, 1970) was an American singer and musician. One of the most successful and widely known Rock music, rock stars of her era, she was noted for her powerful mezzo-soprano vocals and "electric" stage presence.
