Legacy Motor Club
Legacy Motor Club, formerly known as Petty GMS Motorsports, is an American professional stock car racing team owned by Maurice J. Gallagher Jr. and Jimmie Johnson that competes in the NASCAR Cup Series where they field the Nos. 42 and 43 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Noah Gragson and Erik Jones, respectively, along with the No. 84 Camaro part-time for team co-owner Johnson. The team has a technical alliance with Richard Childress Racing. History On December 1, 2021, Gallagher purchased a majority interest in the former Richard Petty Motorsports for 19 million. The deal included both of RPM's charters; the No. 43 continued to operate with its charter while the second charter - which was leased to Rick Ware Racing for the No. 51 from 2019 to 2021 - was transferred to a second car for the team, the No. 42. Daytona International Speedway is a race track in Daytona Beach, Florida, United States. Since opening in 1959, it has been the home of the Daytona 500, the most prestigious race in NASCAR as well as its season opening event. The website was founded by Jay "Jayski" Adamczyk in 1996 after he had difficulty finding news regarding the Melling Racing team, and subsequently worked to get all NASCAR news grouped together on the site. Rick Ware Racing (RWR) is an American motorsports team which currently competes in the NASCAR Cup Series, WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, and the NTT IndyCar Series. History The organizational roots of RWR date back to Ware & Sons Racing with Rick and his father John Ware competing in the SCCA Series. Richard Petty Motorsports (RPM) was an American professional stock car racing team that competed in the NASCAR Cup Series.
