Lega Nord Friuli-Venezia Giulia
Lega Friuli-Venezia Giulia ( en, Friuli-Venezia Giulia League), whose complete name is ( en, Friuli-Venezia Giulia League for Salvini Premier), is a regionalist political party active in Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The party was a "national" section of Lega Nord (LN) from 1991 to 2000 and has been the regional section of Lega per Salvini Premier (LSP) in Friuli-Venezia Giulia since 2020. The party is currently led by pro-tempore coordinator Marco Dreosto. Two of its former leaders, Massimiliano Fedriga and Pietro Fontanini, are President of Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Pietro Fontanini mayor of Udine, respectively. History The party was founded in 1990 as Lega Friuli by leading members of the Friuli Movement, including Roberto Visentin, Pietro Fontanini, Rinaldo Bosco, Sergio Cecotti and Alessandra Guerra. Massimiliano Fedriga
Massimiliano Fedriga (born 2 July 1980 in Verona) is an Italian Northern League politician. He is the president of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia autonomous region. Biography Born in Verona on 2 July 1980 and raised in Trieste, Fedriga graduated in Communication Sciences at the University of Trieste. After graduating, he obtained a master's degree in communication management and analysis. He joined the Northern League in 1995. Subsequently, he became a member of the "National Council", the decision-making body of the party in Friuli-Venezia Giulia and then of the Federal Council. Since 2003 he has been provincial secretary of the League, while on 28 September 2014 he was elected national secretary of the party of Friuli Venezia Giulia. Liga Veneta
Liga Veneta ( vec, Łiga Vèneta; en, Venetian League; abbr. LV), whose complete name is ( en, Venetian League for Salvini Premier), is a regionalist political party active in Veneto. The LV, whose ideology combines Venetian nationalism and support for fiscal federalism, was established in 1979 and was the first party of its kind in northern Italy, predating Umberto Bossi's Lega Lombarda by five years. The LV was one of the founding "national" sections of Lega Nord (LN) in 1991 and has been the regional section of Lega per Salvini Premier (LSP) in Veneto since 2020. (English: ''Northern League Trieste'') was a regionalist political party in Italy. It was the provincial section of in the Province of Trieste, before merging into in 2001. The longstanding leader of the party was Fabrizio Belloni, a keen independentist, who later left and became a harsh critic of Umberto Bossi. The 1996 Italian general election was held on 21 April 1996 to elect members of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Republic. Romano Prodi, leader of the centre-left The Olive Tree, won the election, narrowly defeating Silvio Berlusconi, who led the centre-right Pole for Freedoms. Pordenone (; Venetian and fur, Pordenon) is the main ''comune'' of Pordenone province of northeast Italy in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. The name comes from Latin ''Portus Naonis'', meaning 'port on the Noncello (Latin ''Naon'') River'. Sergio Cecotti
Sergio Cecotti (born 23 October 1956) is an Italian politician, former Mayor of Udine and former President of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Biography Academic career Cecotti graduated in physics at the University of Pisa in 1979 and has worked at the Harvard University, at the UCLA, at the CERN in Geneva (where he worked with Nobel Prize recipient Carlo Rubbia) and at the ICTP in Trieste. He has taught physics at the University of Pisa and at the International School for Advanced Studies of Trieste.
