Lefteris Topalidis
Eleftherios "Lefteris" Topalidis (, born 2 September 1986) is a Greek footballer who currently plays as a goalkeeper for Anagennisi Epanomi in the Football League. During his career, he has also played for Orfeas Eleftheroupoli, PAONE, Doxa Drama, Zakynthos and Chalkida. Club career Born in Kavala, Topalidis began playing football in the regional leagues with local club ''Orfeas Eleftheroupoli'' and joined Gamma Ethniki side PAONE in 2006. After two seasons with PAONE, he signed with Doxa Drama for three seasons, celebrating two promotions with the club – he helped the club reach the 2010–11 Football League promotion play-offs, where they lost to OFI Crete, but Doxa Drama managed to get promoted to the Superleague after all due to the Koriopolis scandal. Topalidis however did not stay at Drama and moved to Greek Football League 2 side Zakynthos for half a year and in February 2012 he signed for Chalkida in the Delta Ethniki. Kavala
Kavala ( el, Καβάλα, ''Kavála'' ) is a city in northern Greece, the principal seaport of eastern Macedonia and the capital of Kavala regional unit. It is situated on the Bay of Kavala, across from the island of Thasos and on the Egnatia motorway, a one-and-a-half-hour drive to Thessaloniki ( west) and a forty-minute drive to Drama ( north) and Xanthi ( east). 2010–11 Football League (Greece)
The 2010–11 Football League is the second division of the Greek professional football system and the first season under the name Football League after previously being known as ''Beta Ethniki''. Its regular season began on 12 September 2010 and ended on 15 May 2011; the promotion play-offs, originally scheduled to take place immediately afterwards, were postponed to late July 2011 in wake of the Koriopolis scandal. Teams A total of three teams gained promotion to the 2010–11 Super League after the 2009–10 Beta Ethniki season. The Gamma Ethniki ( el, Γ΄ Εθνική Ερασιτεχνική Κατηγορία, C National Amateur Division) is the third highest football league in Greece. History The Gamma Ethniki began in 1965 as an amateur championship, while in 1983 it was changed to professional. Koriopolis ( el, Κοριόπολις) is the name given by the Greek press to a match fixing scandal in Greek football that came to light in June 2011. The investigation centres on offences that include illegal gambling, fraud, extortion and money laundering. The name Koriopolis is a pun on the name of the Italian scandal of Calciopoli in 2006, and the Greek word ''korios'' (phone tap).
