Lef Nosi
Lef Nosi (born Elefter Nosi; 9 April 187720 February 1946) was an Albanian publisher, archivist, philologist, folklorist, ethnographer, numismatist, archaeologist and politician. On 28 November 1912, he was as one of the signatories of the Declaration of Independence, representing Elbasan. During the Second World War, Nosi was a leading member of Balli Kombëtar and was chosen as a member of the Albanian High Council. Biography Early life Lef Nosi was born on 9 April 1877 of a wealthy family in Elbasan. He supported the Congress of Elbasan in August 1909 and was director of the respected Normal School (''Shkolla Normale'') in his native town. Albanian Kingdom (1943–44)
The German occupation of Albania occurred between 1943 and 1944 during World War II. Before the armistice between Italy and the Allied armed forces on 8 September 1943, Albania had been in a de jure personal union with and was de facto under the control of the Kingdom of Italy. Maliq Bushati
Maliq Bey Bushati (8 February 189020 February 1946) was an Albanian public official and politician. After the Italian invasion of Albania he became an Interior Minister in the Vërlaci government and afterwards Prime Minister of Albania during the Italian occupation from 13 February to 12 May 1943, thus an Axis collaborator. Along with two other Axis Collaborators Lef Nosi and father Anton Harapi, he was sentenced to death by communist Albania. Anton Harapi
Anton Harapi (5 January 1888 – 20 February 1946) was an Albanian Franciscan friar, educator, lecturer, publicist, and political figure during World War II. In the first years of the communist regime in Albania, he was executed due to collaboration with the Axis. Biography Early life Anton Harapi was born on January 5, 1888, in Shiroka and educated in Shkodër. He had gone to secondary school at monastic schools in Meran and Hall in Tirol by the Franciscans. He had also studied theology in Rome. Harapi supported and respected the diverse religious differences of Albanians, in that religion had never divided them, they saw themselves as a single ''blood brotherhood''. Misto Treska (19 April 1914 – 23 June 1993) was an Albanian translator, diplomat (Ambassador), writer and politician of Albania during communist regime. He has translated French authors such as Hugo, Maupassant, Stendhal and Diderot into Albanian. He has served in the Albanian diplomacy, particularly in exchanges of cultural relations of Albania with foreign countries. He has notably been Ambassador in Paris.
