Leemour Pelli
Leemour Pelli (born 1964) is an American artist living and working in New York City. She is primarily a painter and she also makes sculpture, works on paper, installation, prints, and photography. Biography Leemour Pelli was born in 1964 in New York City. Pelli received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting from the School of Visual Arts in New York and she earned a master's degree in art history from Hunter College. Pelli also studied at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts, the Academie Charpentiere in Paris, Cornell University, and the Bezalel Academy of Art in Jerusalem. Work Pelli's work resembles medical imagery and x-rays in the way she depicts anatomy and the organs of the body, including the heart, rib cages, and lungs by seeing through the figure itself. Distorted human figures appear with enlarged ribcages and hearts, overlapping lungs, and other anatomical organs such as intestines. Bezalel Academy Of Arts And Design
Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design ( he, בצלאל, אקדמיה לאמנות ועיצוב) is a public college of design and art located in Jerusalem. Established in 1906 by Jewish painter and sculptor Boris Schatz, Bezalel is Israel's oldest institution of higher education and is considered the most prestigious art school in the country.
