Lee Williams (golfer)
Lee Williams (born December 27, 1981) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. Williams was born in Alexander City, Alabama. He had a successful amateur career, representing the United States in the Walker Cup in 2003 and 2005. He played college golf at Auburn University and turned professional after graduating in 2005. Williams played on the US Pro Golf Tour and the NGA Pro Golf Tour before settling into the Nationwide Tour in 2012. He picked up his first win on the Nationwide Tour on June 10 at the Mexico Open. He finished 16th on the money list to earn his PGA Tour card for 2013. Williams made only 9 cuts in 22 events in 2013, and ranked 196th in the money list. He played in the Web.com Tour Finals and finished 31st to retain his PGA Tour card for 2014. In 2013–14, he played in only 13 events due to injury. Alexander City, known to locals as "Alex City", is the largest city in Tallapoosa County, Alabama, United States, with a population of 14,843 as of the 2020 census. It has been the largest community in Tallapoosa County since 1910. It is known for Lake Martin with its of wooded shoreline and of water. 2004 Eisenhower Trophy
The 2004 Eisenhower Trophy took place 28–31 October at Rio Mar Country Club in Río Grande, Puerto Rico. It was the 24th World Amateur Team Championship for the Eisenhower Trophy. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 66 three-man teams. The best two scores for each round counted towards the team total. Each team was due to play two rounds on the two courses. The leading teams played on the River course on the third day and were due to play on the Ocean course on the final day. Heavy rain and lightning caused the final day to be abandoned and the event was reduced to 54 holes. The leading 36 teams had played their third round on the River course while the others played on the Ocean course. The United States won their 13th Eisenhower Trophy, nine strokes ahead of Spain, who took the silver medal. Eisenhower Trophy
The Eisenhower Trophy (World Men's Amateur Team Championships) is the biennial World Amateur Team Championship for men organized by the International Golf Federation. Since the tournament was first played in 1958, it is named after Dwight D. Eisenhower, the President of the United States at the time, who was a keen amateur golfer. The equivalent competition for women is the Espirito Santo Trophy. Results The 1958 championship resulted in a tie. There was an 18-hole playoff which Australia won with a score of 222 to the United States 224. From 1958 to 2000 the teams had four players with the best three scores counting for each round. From 2002 the teams have been three players with two counting. The 2004, 2010 and 2012 championships were reduced to 54 holes because of bad weather. Paul Haley II (born January 20, 1988) is an American professional golfer who plays on the Korn Ferry Tour. Haley played college golf at Georgia Tech. In his senior season, he won the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship. He turned professional after graduating in 2011.
