Lee Kim Lai
Lee Kim Lai (1960 – 25 April 1978; 李金来 Lǐ Jīnlái) was a police officer who was murdered on 25 April 1978 for his service revolver by three men. A serving Police National Serviceman, he was performing sentry duty at the Police Reserve Unit 1 base of the Singapore Police Force at Mount Vernon when he was abducted from the front gate and forced into a taxi. His body was later found with multiple stab wounds in the abandoned taxi, the driver of which was also killed. Colony Of Singapore
Singapore was a British colony for 144 years, apart from a period of occupation under the Japanese Empire from 1942 to 1945 during the Pacific War. Kallang Bahru
Kallang Bahru is a subzone within the planning area of Kallang, Singapore, as defined by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA). This subzone is bounded by Bendemeer Road and Sungei Whampoa in the north; the Kallang River in the east; Kallang Road and Sims Avenue in the south; and Lavender Street in the west. "Kallang Bahru" is also the name of a two-way road in the area. This road connects the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) in the northeast with Lavender Street in the southwest, with major junctions located at Geylang Bahru and Boon Keng Road. This road is unique as it is one of the few roads in Singapore to have a name without any generic element. The name of the subzone was derived from this road. Channel 5 (Chinese: 五頻道) is a free-to-air, English-language television channel in Singapore. Owned by state broadcaster Mediacorp, it broadcasts general entertainment, news, and sports programming. Nicky Moey is a Singaporean writer, best known for his collections of horror fiction and thriller stories. Early life and education Moey was born on 26 April 1964. Growing up, he spent his leisure playing marbles, flying kites, catching fighting spiders and keeping a variety of pets, including aquarium fish. He studied at Sembawang Hills Estate School (1971–1976), Raffles Institution (1977–1980) and National Junior College (1981–1982). He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the National University of Singapore in 1989.
