Lee E. Geyer
Lee Edward Geyer (September 9, 1888 – October 11, 1941) was an American educator and World War I veteran who served as a United States House of Representatives, U.S. Representative from California from 1939 to 1941. He died in office during his only term in United States Congress, Congress. Biography Born in Wetmore, Kansas, Geyer attended the public schools. He was graduated from Baker University, Baldwin City, Kansas, in 1922 and afterwards did post-graduate work at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and the University of Southern California at Los Angeles. He was a teacher in the rural schools in Nemaha County, Kansas from 1908 to 1912 and principal of Hamlin (Kansas) High School between 1916 and 1918. Wetmore is a city in Nemaha County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 348. History Wetmore was founded in 1866 by the railroad company. Camp Grant (Illinois)
Camp Grant was a U.S. Army facility located in the southern outskirts of Rockford, Illinois named in honor of American Civil War general Ulysses S. Grant. Camp Grant covered an area of 5,600 acres during World War I and 3,200 acres during World War II, and was in operation from 1917 to 1946. World War I Established in 1917, Camp Grant saw its first "selected men," or draftees, arrive in September of that year. Primarily a location for training infantry, it became one of the largest military training facilities in the United States during World War I.
