Lee County High School (Leesburg, Georgia)
Lee County High School is a public school located in Leesburg, Georgia, United States. The mascot is the Trojan and the school colors are red and black. LCHS has achieved Adequate Yearly Progress for seven years in a row and is part of the Lee County School District, which is one of only a few school systems in the state of Georgia to earn AYP for six years in a row. Kevin Dowling served as the principal of the school from June 2006 to Fall 2016. Karen Hancock took over from Kevin Dowling as principal in the fall of 2016. In 2008 the Lee County High School 9th Grade Campus was opened, which freshmen attend for one year before transitioning to the upper campus. The principal of the LCHS 9th Grade Campus is Ginger Lawrence. Academics The school offers a wide variety of classes and career pathway opportunities. Beattyville is a list of Kentucky cities, "home rule class" city in Lee County, Kentucky, Lee County, Kentucky, United States. The city was formally established by the Kentucky Assembly, state assembly as "Beatty" in 1851 and incorporated in 1872. It was named for Samuel Beatty, a pioneer settler. The population was 1,307 at the 2010 United States Census, 2010 census and an estimated 1,206 in 2018. It is the list of counties in Kentucky, county seat of Lee County. Lee County High School is one of four high schools in Sanford, North Carolina. The high school is located on 1708 Nash Street in Sanford and serves grades 9–12. The school mascot is the yellow jacket and the school's colors are Blue and Vegas Gold. History The school first opened under the name of Sanford Central High School in 1951. It was an all white school. In 1966 the school was integrated. In 1977, the school name was changed to "Lee County Senior High" and served grades 10–12. In the fall of 1992, Lee County Schools reorganized its grade configuration to elementary (K–5), middle school (6–8), and high school (9–12). For years Lee County High School was the only high school in Sanford/Lee County. The School District of Lee County manages public education in Lee County, Florida. As of the 2019–20 school year, there were 95,647 students attending 119 schools in the district, which had an operating budget of $1.327 billion. The District school choice system is an open-enrollment system for school assignments and goes through the Student Assignment Office. A lottery process is used to assign students to schools when the number of applicants for a school exceeds the number of available seats.
