Lee Bracegirdle
Lee Joseph Bracegirdle is an Australian-American composer, horn player and conductor. He was born in Houston, Texas, US, and grew up in Bucks County, near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He resides in Sydney, Australia and his compositions are published by C.F. Peters. After studies in French horn at the Philadelphia Musical Academy with Joseph DeAngelis, he studied at the Juilliard School with James Chambers and John Cerminaro, and privately with Carmine Caruso and Roy Stevens. In New York he free-lanced with the New York City Symphony Orchestra, the Brooklyn Philharmonia, and with jazz musicians Clark Terry, Ornette Coleman, Stanley Clark, Teo Macera and Dave Brubeck. Michael Andreas Gielen (20 July 19278 March 2019) was an Austrian conductor and composer known for promoting contemporary music in opera and concert. Principally active in Europe, his performances are characterized by precision and vivacity, aiding his ability to interpret the complex contemporary music he specialized in. Raised in Argentina, he first worked in Vienna and was Generalmusikdirektor (GMD) of the Royal Swedish Opera. He conducted notable world premieres such as György Ligeti's '' Requièm'', Karlheinz Stockhausen's '' Carré'', and Bernd Alois Zimmermann's opera ''Die Soldaten'' and his '' Requiem für einen jungen Dichter''. Hofer Symphoniker (''Hof Symphony Orchestra'') is a German symphony orchestra based in Hof, Bavaria, Germany. The orchestra began its performing activity in 1945, when Kapellmeister Karl F. Keller founded it as ''Hofer Konzertorchester''. As a concert orchestra, Hofer Symphoniker gives concerts at Freiheitshalle Hof, an event building and concert hall, as well as at several locations in the region of Upper Franconia.
