Lebrecht, Prince Of Anhalt-Köthen
Lebrecht of Anhalt-Köthen ( Plötzkau, 8 April 1622 – Köthen, 7 November 1669), was a German prince of the House of Ascania and ruler of the principality of Anhalt-Plötzkau. From 1665, he was ruler of the principality of Anhalt-Köthen. He was the second son of Augustus, Prince of Anhalt-Plötzkau, by his wife Sibylle, daughter of John George I, Count of Solms-Laubach. Life After the death of his father in 1653, Lebrecht inherited Plötzkau jointly with his older brother Ernest Gottlieb and his younger brother Emmanuel. With their principality, they also received the regency over Anhalt-Köthen on behalf of the infant Prince William Louis. While Lebrecht and Emmanuel held the regency, Ernest Gottlieb served as sole ruler over Plötzkau, but only for seven months until his death, unmarried and childless. Lebrecht, Prince of Anhalt-Zeitz-Hoym (Bernburg, 28 June 1669 – Bad Ems, 17 May 1727), was a German prince of the House of Ascania. The second son of Victor Amadeus, Prince of Anhalt-Bernburg and Elizabeth of Palatinate-Zweibrücken, he married Charlotte of Nassau-Schaumburg, heiress to the County of Holzappel and Lordship of Schaumburg and founded a cadet branch of the House of Anhalt-Bernburg later named Anhalt-Bernburg-Schaumburg-Hoym. Life Lebrecht was born on 28 June 1669 in Bernburg as the second son of Victor Amadeus, Prince of Anhalt-Bernburg by his wife Elizabeth of Palatinate-Zweibrücken, daughter of Frederick, Count Palatine of Zweibrücken. Excluded from the government of the principality of Anhalt-Bernburg after the introduction of primogeniture, Lebrecht acquired in 1707 the towns of Belleben, Hoym, Reinstedt, and Frose as compensation. Lebrecht Blücher Dreves (12 September 1816 – 19 December 1870) was a German poet and translator of poetry from Hamburg. Biography The Prussian general Blucher was his baptismal sponsor, whence his name. At age nineteen he submitted a volume of poems for the judgment of Adelbert von Chamisso and Gustav Schwab, and both expressed favourable opinions. This was followed shortly by another volume entitled ''Lyrische Anklange'' (Lyrical Melodies), grafted on the music of his favourites, Chamisso, Ludwig Uhland, Heinrich Heine, Friedrich Rückert, Schwab, and others. Over the next three years he studied jurisprudence, gaining the degree of doctor of laws summa cum laude. Another volume, entitled ''Vigilien'' (Vigils), followed, and in 1843 he published anonymously a third volume, ''Schlichte Lieder'' (Unpretentious Songs) embodying his battle-songs, ''Lieder eines Hanseaten''. Carl Lebrecht Udo Dammer
Carl Lebrecht Udo Dammer (born 8 January 1860 in Apolda, died 15 November 1920 in Großrambin near Kołobrzeg) was a German botanist. Dammer was also interested in entomology. He was the son of Otto Dammer (1839–1916), an early advocate of the labor and Social Democratic movement in Germany. Udo Dammer studied natural sciences in Berlin, and worked at the Botanical Garden in St. Petersburg from 1882 to 1886. Her earned in Ph.D. at the University of Freiburg in 1888. Emmanuel Lebrecht of Anhalt-Köthen (20May 167130May 1704) was a German prince of the House of Ascania and ruler of the principality of Anhalt-Köthen. He was the only child of Emmanuel, Prince of Anhalt-Köthen, by his wife Anna Eleonore of Stolberg-Wernigerode, Anna Eleonore, daughter of Henry Ernest, Count of Stolberg. Life Emmanuel Lebrecht was born six months after the death of his father on 8 November 1670 and was declared ruler of Anhalt-Köthen under the regency of his mother immediately at birth. Guillaume-Lebrecht Petzold (2 July 1794 – ) was a piano maker in Paris in the early 19th century. Petzold was born in Lichtenhain, a village in Saxony. His father, a Protestant minister, wanted him to learn an artistic trade and in April 1798 brought him to Dresden where he apprenticed with Charles Rodolphe August Wenzky, maker of organs and pianos to the court. Karl George Lebrecht of Anhalt-Köthen (Köthen, 15 August 1730 – Semlin, 17 October 1789), was a German prince of the House of Ascania and ruler of the principality of Anhalt-Köthen. He was the second (but eldest surviving) son of Augustus Louis, Prince of Anhalt-Köthen, by his second wife Christine Johanna Emilie, daughter of Erdmann II, Count of Promnitz-Pless. Life As a young prince, Karl George Lebrecht served briefly in the Danish army (1750–51) and, from November 1751, in the Prussian army. In 1755, he inherited Anhalt-Köthen after the death of his father. Karl George Lebrecht was created a knight of the Order of the Black Eagle in 1780 and in 1787 was elevated to the rank of ''Generalfeldmarschall''.
