Leaves Of Yesteryear
''Leaves of Yesteryear'' is the sixth full-length studio album by the Norwegian progressive metal band Green Carnation. It was released on May 8, 2020 via Season of Mist. This album represents the return of the band after fourteen years of absence from the recording studios. It Includes the cover of the Black Sabbath ballad "Solitude", from their album ''Master of Reality ''(1971), as well as a new version of "My Dark Reflections of Life and Death" that originally appeared on their 2000 debut album, ''Journey to the End of the Night''. It is the first studio album with experienced Chilean drummer Jonathan Pérez (ex- Sirenia), a live band member since 2016. Reception The album was met with positive reviews from music critics. Green Carnation
Green Carnation is a Norwegian progressive metal band from Kristiansand, formed in 1990. Green Carnation's trend of music has continuously changed on every release one by one; from straight forward death metal in their demo, to death-doom, then a progressive doom metal sound, to an atmospheric gothic metal sound, to a melancholic hard rock sound and in 2006, went as far as to releasing an entirely acoustic album '' Acoustic Verses''. The band released its first album in 14 years titled '' Leaves of Yesteryear'' on May 8, 2020, which marked a return to their earlier gothic progressive metal roots. Green Carnation Albums
Green is the color between cyan and yellow on the visible spectrum. It is evoked by light which has a dominant wavelength of roughly 495570 nm. Terje Vik Schei (born 7 July 1974), better known by his stage name Tchort, is a Norwegian musician. He is known for his time spent playing bass for the black metal band Emperor and for leading the progressive metal band Green Carnation. He has also played with Carpathian Forest and Blood Red Throne, Satyricon and Einherjer. Tchort is known to be married and to have a son and a daughter. Tchort is a Slavonic word (Russian ''Чёрт'', Czech and Slovak ''Čert'', Ukrainian and Belarusian ''Чорт'', Polish ''Czort'' or ''Czart'') meaning ''Devil''. Tony Iommi
Anthony Frank Iommi () (born 19 February 1948) is a British musician. He co-founded the pioneering heavy metal band Black Sabbath, and was the band's guitarist, leader and primary composer and sole continuous member for nearly five decades. Iommi was ranked number 25 in ''Rolling Stone'' magazine's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time". Terence Michael Joseph "Geezer" Butler (born 17 July 1949) is a English musician and songwriter. He is best known as the bassist and primary lyricist of the heavy metal band Black Sabbath. He has also recorded and performed with Heaven & Hell, GZR, and Ozzy Osbourne. Butler was the bassist of Deadland Ritual, which has since disbanded. Ozzy Osbourne
John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne (born 3 December 1948) is an English singer, songwriter, and television personality. He rose to prominence during the 1970s as the lead vocalist of the heavy metal band Black Sabbath, during which period he adopted the nickname "Prince of Darkness". William Thomas Ward (born 5 May 1948) is an English drummer. He was a co-founder and the original drummer for the heavy metal band Black Sabbath. Ward helped found Black Sabbath in 1969 alongside bandmates Ozzy Osbourne (lead singer), Tony Iommi (guitarist) and Geezer Butler (bass). Biography Early years and Black Sabbath Bill started to play drums as a child, listening to the big bands of the 1940s; his early major influences were Gene Krupa, Buddy Rich and Louie Bellson. Light Of Day, Day Of Darkness
''Light of Day, Day of Darkness'' is the second (one-track) studio album by the Norwegian progressive metal band, Green Carnation. Originally, it was released by German record label Prophecy Productions in November 2001. Background The album was composed, written and arranged by founding member Terje Vik Schei (a.k.a. Tchort). It is composed of a single 60-minute track and was largely inspired by the death of Tchort's daughter and dedicated to his son, Damien Aleksander, whose baby voice appears a few moments in the song. It is said that 600 different samples were used in the editing of the song. Musical style Musically, ''Light of Day, Day of Darkness'' is pure progressive metal.
