Leap (education And Training)
Leap was established in 2007 by the University of Suffolk, thSuffolk Learningand Skills Council and Suffolk County Council, with funding from East of England Development Agency. Leap is unique to Suffolk and delivers free and impartial information and signposting to everyone seeking education or training opportunities. It works with the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce to assist businesses in improving the skills of their workforce. Suffolk
Suffolk () is a ceremonial county of England in East Anglia. It borders Norfolk to the north, Cambridgeshire to the west and Essex to the south; the North Sea lies to the east. The county town is Ipswich; other important towns include Lowestoft, Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket, and Felixstowe which has one of the largest container ports in Europe. The county is low-lying but can be quite hilly, especially towards the west. It is also known for its extensive farming and has largely arable land with the wetlands of the Broads in the north. The Suffolk Coast & Heaths and Dedham Vale are both nationally designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. East Of England Development Agency
The East of England Development Agency (EEDA) was a non-departmental public body and the regional development agency for the East of England region of England. It came into operation on 1 April 1999 and assumed the regional powers of English Partnerships, the Rural Development Commission and the SRB Challenge Fund. The total budget for 2005/06 was £140 million. From 2010 many of the powers that were vested in the East of England Regional Assembly were passed to the EEDA and to local authorities.
