Leanier Addy
Leanier Afiyea-Obo Addy is a Ghanaian association football executive and administrator. She previously served as the Chairperson of the Ghana Women's League Board and as head of the women football in the country. She also served on the Ghana Football Association Executive Committee, making her the first female to do so. Career Addy served as the Chairperson of the Ghana Women's League Board. She also served as the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Committee Member for eight years. She was first voted unto the executive committee in 2010 after pulling five votes from the total ballot cast of eight, to win the sole slot via the Constituent Bodies on the executive committee. She beat off competition from Habiba Atta Forson who pulled two votes and Sylvester Twintoh Mensah who also had one vote. That made her the first female to serve on the executive committee. The Ghana Women’s Premier League (GWPL), currently known as the Guinness Ghana Breweries, Malta Guinness Women's Premier League for sponsorship reasons, was launched in 2012 as the National Women's League (NWL) and is the top division league for women's football in Ghana. Contested by 18 clubs in two zones (southern and northern zone), it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Ghana Women's Division One. Kwesi Nyantakyi is a Ghanaian banker, lawyer and former football administrator. He was the president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) from 30 December 2005 until 7 June 2018. Nyantakyi officially resigned a day later. However, four hours to the release of his resignation letter FIFA had issued a statement announcing his ban from all football related activities for a period of 90 days pending investigations.
