Leandro Becheroni (13 July 1950 – 30 March 2023) was an Italian Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. Life and career Born in Calenzano, Becheroni had his breakout in 1977, when he won the 500cc Italian Junior Championship with a Bimota Bimota is an Italian manufacturer of custom and production motorcycles. Grand Prix motorcycle racing is the premier class of motorcycle road racing events held on road circuits sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). Independent motorcycle racing events have been held since the start of the twentieth century and large national events were often given the title Grand Prix. Bimota is an Italian manufacturer of custom and production motorcycles. It was founded in 1973 in Rimini by Valerio Bianchi, Giuseppe Morri, and Massimo Tamburini. The company name is a portmanteau derived from the first two letters of each of the three founders' surnames: Bianchi, Morri, and Tamburini.
