Leading Creek (Tygart Valley River)
Leading Creek is a tributary of the Tygart Valley River, long, in eastern West Virginia in the United States. Via the Tygart Valley, Monongahela River, Monongahela and Ohio River, Ohio rivers, it is part of the drainage basin, watershed of the Mississippi River, draining an area of in the Allegheny Mountains. The stream's entire course and drainage basin are in northern Randolph County, West Virginia, Randolph County. Leading Creek rises north of Montrose, West Virginia, Montrose and flows southward in a valley between Laurel Mountain (West Virginia), Laurel Mountain and Cheat Mountain, through Montrose and the unincorporated community of Kerens, West Virginia, Kerens, to Elkins, West Virginia, Elkins, where it flows into the Tygart Valley River from the north. Cheat Mountain
Cheat Mountain is an exceptionally high and rugged ridge situated in the Allegheny Mountains of eastern West Virginia, USA. It is about long (north to south) and more than five miles (8 km) wide at its widest. Its highest point is at its southernmost end at Thorny Flat, which has an elevation of . Laurel Mountain (West Virginia)
Laurel Mountain, also called Laurel Hill, is a long ridge in north-central West Virginia, US. Along with Rich Mountain to the south, it is considered to be the westernmost ridge of the Allegheny Mountains and the boundary between the Alleghenies and the Allegheny Plateau. Geography Running northeast to southwest through Preston, Tucker, Barbour, and Randolph Counties, the ridge forms portions of the borders between them.
