Le Touquet Athlétic Club Football Côte-d'Opale, commonly known simply as Le Touquet, is a French association football club based in the commune of Le Touquet, Le Touquet-Paris-Plage in the Pas-de-Calais department of northern France. The club was founded in 1933 as the result of a merger between two local clubs, ''Olympique Touquettois'' and ''US Le Touquet-Paris-Plage'', and adopted its current name in 1996. Its stadium is named after former France national football team, France, Paris Saint-Germain F.C., Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool F.C., Liverpool manager Gérard Houllier, who was a player and coach at the club during the 1970s. Although the club has spent much of its history in the lower reaches of the French football league system, they competed in Ligue 2, Division 2 during the 1988–89 season. Le Touquet
Le Touquet-Paris-Plage (; pcd, Ech Toutchet-Paris-Plache; vls, 't Oekske, older nl, Het Hoekske), commonly referred to as Le Touquet (), is a commune near Étaples, in the Pas-de-Calais department, northern France. It has a population of 4,227 (2019), but welcomes up to 250,000 people during the summer. Located on the Opal Coast, south of Boulogne-sur-Mer, on the shoreline of the English Channel, the seaside resort has been nicknamed the "Garden of the English Channel" (french: Jardin de la Manche), the "Pearl of the Opal Coast" (french: Perle de la Côte d'Opale), the "Sports Paradise" (french: Paradis des sports) or the "Four Seasons Resort" (french: Station des quatre saisons). The French football league system is a series of interconnected leagues for club football in France and Monaco, and includes one Spanish side. At the top two levels of the system is the Ligue de Football Professionnel, which consists of two professional national divisions, Ligue 1 and Ligue 2. Coupe De France
The Coupe de France, formerly known as the Coupe Charles Simon, is the premier knockout cup competition in French football organized by the French Football Federation (FFF). It was first held in 1917 and is open to all amateur and professional football clubs in France, including clubs based in the overseas departments and territories. Between 1917 and 1919, the competition was called the Coupe Charles Simon, in tribute of Charles Simon, a French sportsman and the founder of the French Interfederal Committee (the ancestor of the French Football Federation), who died in 1915 while serving in World War I. Gérard Houllier
Gérard Paul Francis Houllier (; 3 September 194714 December 2020) was a French professional football manager and player. Clubs he managed include Paris Saint-Germain, Lens and Liverpool, where he won the FA Cup, League Cup, FA Charity Shield, UEFA Cup and UEFA Super Cup in 2001. He then guided Lyon to two French titles, before announcing his resignation on 25 May 2007. He became manager of Aston Villa in September 2010. He also coached the France national team between 1992 and 1993. Ludovic Joseph Obraniak (; born 10 November 1984) is a football manager and former professional footballer. He primarily played as an attacking midfielder.
