Le Sauveur
''Le Saveur'' is a 1971 French film directed by Michel Mardore, adapted from his own novel, and starring Horst Buchholz and Muriel Catala. Set in occupied France in 1943 Buchholz plays a supposed wounded English airman, Claude, and Catala plays the girl Nannette who falls for him. The supposed airman is soon revealed to be a cruel Nazi officer. Production Michel Mardore said he asked Muriel Catalá to shave her pubes to accentuate her childlike appearance. "This should have sold the film in Japan, since the Japanese abhor pubic hair and only accept the female nude when the woman is shaved..." Horst Buchholz
Horst Werner Buchholz (4 December 1933 – 3 March 2003) was a German actor who appeared in more than 60 feature films from 1951 to 2002. During his youth, he was sometimes called "the German James Dean". He is perhaps best known in English-speaking countries for his role as Chico in ''The Magnificent Seven'' (1960), as a communist in Billy Wilder's ''One, Two, Three'' (1961), and as Dr. Lessing in ''Life Is Beautiful'' (1997). Early life Horst Buchholz was born in Berlin, the son of Maria Hasenkamp. Pierre Jansen
Pierre Georges Cornil Jansen (28 February 1930 – 13 August 2015 at Saint-Pierre-Saint-Jean) was a French film scores composer. He was in particular the permanent collaborator of Claude Chabrol for whom he composed the music for many films. Life Born in Roubaix, Jansen did his first musical studies at the Conservatoire de Roubaix (piano and harmony) under the direction of Alfred Desenclos. He furthered his studies at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (piano and harmony prizes) and writing studies with André Souris (harmony, counterpoint, fugue and orchestration). From 1952 onwards, he regularly attended classes with Olivier Messiaen and participated in the '' Ferienkurse für die neue Musik'' in Darmstadt. In 1958, a suite for piano and 18 instruments was premiered in Darmstadt, and later performed in Paris during a concert of the Domaine musical. William Lubtchansky
William Lubtchansky (26 October 1937 – 4 May 2010) was a French cinematographer. Biography Lubtchansky's first film was Agnès Varda's 1965 short, ''Elsa la Rose''. He shot over 100 films, including several for Jean-Luc Godard, Jacques Rivette, Jean Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet and Nadine Trintignant. He has also worked with Philippe Garrel, François Truffaut, Marcel Camus and Peter Brook (for the 1989 6-hour version of ''The Mahabharata''). Lubtchansky died in Paris, France, on 4 May 2010 from heart disease. Françoise Bonnot
Françoise Bonnot (17 August 1939 – 9 June 2018) was a French film editor with more than 40 feature film credits. Biography Bonnot was the daughter of Monique Bonnot, a film editor noted for several films directed by Jean-Pierre Melville. In her first film credit, Françoise Bonnot was the assistant to her mother on Melville's 1959 film, ''Two Men in Manhattan'' (1959). She and her mother co-edited the 1962 film, '' A Monkey in Winter'', that was directed by Henri Verneuil. At about this time Bonnot married Verneuil; she edited three more of his films in the 1960s. Bonnot edited Melville's 1969 film, '' Army of Shadows'', when her mother became unavailable. This film is about the French resistance fighters during the Second World War, and was a departure from Melville's more characteristic crime and detective films.
