LeTourneau University
LeTourneau University (LETU) is a private, interdenominational evangelical Christian university in Longview, Texas. Founded as LeTourneau Technical Institute in February 1946 by R. G. LeTourneau with his wife, Evelyn, the school initially educated veterans returning from World War II. Total annual enrollment is nearly 3,000. History R. G. LeTourneau Technologies, Inc. was an American manufacturer of heavy construction equipment founded by R. G. LeTourneau. In 2011, the company was acquired by Joy Global. History R. G. Fanny Létourneau (born June 24, 1979) is a Canadian former synchronized swimmer and Olympian. Career Létourneau was a two-time Olympian, competing for Canada in the team and duet events at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia, winning a bronze medal in the team event, and at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. The company was founded in 1979 by Fernand Létourneau, who served as president, owner and artistic director of the firm until 2019. In 2019, Fernand Létourneau sold the company to a long-time employee, Dudley Oakes.
