Lazare Adingono
Lazare Adingono (or Lazare Adie Ngono; born 11 January 1978) is a Cameroonian-American former basketball player and current head coach of Primeiro de Agosto of the Angolan Basketball League. Playing career Adingono played basketball at the University of Rhode Island from 1999 to 2003. In the 2002–03 season, Adingono was a co-captain and finished third on the team in scoring, with 11.8 points per game. He also was a member of the Cameroon national basketball team. Coaching career Adingono coached the men's national team at the 2007 and 2009 FIBA Africa Championships. From 2006 to 2009, Adingono was an assistant coach for the Canisius Golden Griffins. In April 2009, Adingono left Canisius. Adingono is an uncle of team Cameroon and Petro Atlético player Parfait Bitee. FIBA Africa Championship 2007
AfroBasket 2007 was the 24th FIBA Africa Championship, played under the auspices of the Fédération Internationale de Basketball, the basketball sport governing body, and the African zone thereof. The tournament was hosted by Angola, in the cities of Benguela, Cabinda, Huambo and Lubango. Angola won its fifth consecutive African championship and ninth overall by beating Cameroon 86-72 in the championship game. Cape Verde won the bronze medal game over Egypt. Angola qualified for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing whereas Cameroon and Cape Verde qualified for the 2008 Olympic Qualifying Tournament. AfroBasket 2021
FIBA AfroBasket 2021 was the 30th edition of the FIBA AfroBasket, a men's basketball continental championship of Africa. The tournament was hosted by Rwanda for the first time. It was originally scheduled to take place between 17 and 29 August 2021, but it was moved back a week due to the COVID-19 pandemic, to 24 August to 5 September 2021. The tournament featured 16 teams, with South Sudan debuting at the AfroBasket stage. Tunisia was the defending champion, having won the 2017 tournament and they defended their title with a final win over Ivory Coast, while Senegal won the bronze medal. Host selection In June 2019, FIBA Africa announced that Rwanda hosts the 2021 FIBA AfroBasket outbesting the bids of Senegal, Ivory Coast, and DR Congo. Parfait Bitee
Parfait Bitee (born 23 July 1985) is a Cameroonian former basketball player and current coach. Bitee played college basketball with the University of Rhode Island. In 2006–07, Bitee became the starting point guard and primary ball-handler for the squad. Bitee also played on the Cameroon men's national basketball team, Cameroonian men's national basketball team that won the silver medal at the FIBA Africa Championship 2007. He had an 8-season long professional career in which he played in Belgium, France, Morocco, Angola, Libya and the United States. Coaching career After his professional career, Bitee became the director of student-athlete development of Towson University.
