''Layover'' (stylized as ''Layo(v)er'') is the debut studio album by South Korean singer V of BTS. It was released on September 8, 2023, by Big Hit Music. The record has been described as a pop, R&B and jazz album "led by soulful tones of V's voice".  ''Layover'' consists of 6 songs, including an additional piano version of the track "Slow Dancing". All tracks from the album were accompanied with a music video. The official music videos of " Love Me Again" and " Rainy Days" were released prior, while the music video for the main track "Slow Dancing" was released on September 13, alongside the album. According to Hanteo Chart, ''Layover'' sold over 1.67 million copies on its opening day, setting a new record for the highest first-day sales by any solo K-pop artist in chart history. Kim Tae-hyung (; born December 30, 1995), also known professionally as V, is a South Korean singer and a member of the boy band BTS. V has released three solo tracks under the band's name: "Stigma" in 2016, " Singularity" in 2018, and "Inner Child" in 2020, all of which have charted on South Korea's Gaon Digital Chart. In 2019, V released his first independent song, the self-composed digital track "Scenery". He also appeared on the '' Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth'' (2016) soundtrack alongside bandmate Jin. Early life and education V was born Kim Tae-hyung on December 30, 1995, in the Seo District of Daegu, and grew up in Geochang County.
