Bangaru Laxman (17 March 1939 – 1 March 2014) was an Indian politician. He was a member of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He was President of party from 2000 to 2001 and served as a minister of state for railways in Government of India from 1999 to 2000. He was sentenced to four years in jail for defence deal corruption case. Early life Bangaru Laxman was born in Madiga caste (a Dalit community) in Telangana. His father was B. Laxman Sivaramakrishnan (born 31 December 1965), popularly known as "''Siva''" and LS, is a former Indian cricketer and current cricket commentator. During his playing career, he was a right arm leg-spinner. Sivaramakrishnan began his commentary career in a test match between India and Bangladesh on 12 November 2000. He also serves as one of the players’ representatives on the International Cricket Council’s cricket committee. Lakshman Singh (also spelled Laxman Singh) is an Indian politician who represented the Indian National Congress (INC), and later its rival BJP in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India. He is a 5 term Member of Parliament and 3 term Member of legislative Assembly. Education & Personal Life Lakshman Singh was born on 14 January 1955 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. His father was Balbhadra Singh, who was an MLA (independent who supported Hindu Mahasabha) and had been the ruler of the former princely state of Raghogarh, the present day Guna district of Madhya Pradesh. Lakshmana Sena (reign: 1178–1206), also called Lakshman Sen in modern indian languages, was the ruler from the Sena dynasty of the Bengal region on the Indian subcontinent. His rule lasted for 28 years; and extended to much of the eastern regions of the Indian subcontinent, notably Bengal and Bihar regions.
