Lawrence Smith (cricketer)
Lawrence Kilner Smith (born 6 January 1964) is an English former cricketer who played first-class and List A cricket for Worcestershire. He later played at minor counties level for Wiltshire, and made a single List A appearance for that county. He also went on Minor Counties' tour of South Africa in 1993โ94. Smith's professional career was not particularly successful: in his few first-team appearances for Worcestershire, his highest score was the 28 he made on debut against Cambridge University, while his solitary success with the ball was the wicket of Warwickshire wicket-keeper Geoff Humpage on Smith's final first-class appearance in July 1987. Smith's only half-century in senior cricket came for Wiltshire against Durham in the first round of the 1993 NatWest Trophy; opening the batting, he top-scored with 73, but his innings was not enough to avoid a 103-run defeat. Mirfield
Mirfield () is a town and civil parish in Kirklees, West Yorkshire, England. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, it is on the A644 road between Brighouse and Dewsbury. At the 2011 census it had a population of 19,563. Mirfield forms part of the Heavy Woollen District. Geoffrey William Humpage (born 24 April 1954 in Sparkbrook, Birmingham) is a former England cricketer who played in three One Day Internationals in 1981. Humpage played in county cricket as a hard-hitting middle-order batsman and wicketkeeper for Warwickshire from 1974 to 1990. , he still holds the Warwickshire batting record for the fourth wicket: a stand of 470 with Alvin Kallicharran against Lancashire at Southport in 1982, of which Humpage contributed 254 (his highest first-class score), in a match which Warwickshire lost by ten wickets. As of 2022, this is the fourth highest fourth-wicket partnership in first-class cricket anywhere, and the highest ever in England. Derbyshire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Derbyshire. Its limited overs team is called the Derbyshire Falcons in reference to the famous peregrine falcon which nests on the Derby Cathedral (it was previously called the Derbyshire Scorpions until 2005 and the Phantoms until 2010). Founded in 1870, the club held first-class status from its first match in 1871 until 1887. David Henry Kilner Smith (29 June 1940 โ 17 December 2021) was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Derbyshire between 1965 and 1970 and for Orange Free State between 1976 and 1978. Biography Smith was born in Shipley, West Yorkshire. His cricketing career began with a season's service in the Derbyshire Second XI, debuting against Northamptonshire in 1964. He continued playing for the Second XI team and made his debut in the Derbyshire first team in the 1965 season, in a draw against Somerset. He played four matches in that season and one match for the first team in the 1966. He was a regular first team player in the 1967 season, scoring centuries against Cambridge University and Essex. The Friends Provident Trophy was a one-day cricket competition in the United Kingdom. It was one of the four tournaments in which the eighteen first-class cricket, first-class counties competed each season. They were joined by teams from Scottish cricket team, Scotland and Irish cricket team, Ireland. Lancashire County Cricket Club, Lancashire won the title a record seven times.
