Lawrence Horn
Lawrence Thomas "L.T." Horn (1939 – February 2017) was an American musician, record producer and chief recording engineer for Motown Records in Detroit and Los Angeles. He later served a life sentence for hiring a hit man to murder his ex-wife, Mildred Horn, their disabled son Trevor, and nurse Janice Saunders. The case quickly gained national interest, and went on to prompt a lawsuit with Paladin Press, the publishers of a book, '' Hit Man: A Technical Manual for Independent Contractors'', which had been used as a how-to manual by the killer. Career Horn gained experience working as a disc jockey on the USS ''Lake Champlain'' (CV-39)'s radio station. He began working with Motown Records in Detroit, during their heyday in the early 1960s as a sound engineer. Andy Wolk
Andy Wolk is an American television and theatre director. His television credits include '' Tales of the Crypt'', ''The Sopranos'', '' Arli$$'', ''The Practice'', ''The Division'', ''Medium'', ''Ugly Betty'', and ''Criminal Minds'', as well as a number of television films. Wolk wrote two plays with Camera Obscura, a theatre company based in Jamestown, New York, that were performed during the 1970s at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club in the East Village of Manhattan. The first, ''Oracles'', is based in Greek mythology and was produced in 1973. The second, ''Maldoror'', is based on Comte de Lautreaumont's ''Les Chants de Maldoror'' and was produced in 1974. ''Hit Man: A Technical Manual for Independent Contractors'' is a book written under the pseudonym Rex Feral and published by Paladin Press in 1983. Paladin Press owner Peder Lund claimed, in an interview with ''60 Minutes'', that the book started life as a detailed crime novel written by a Florida housewife, and that the format was later changed to appeal to Paladin's reader base accustomed to the publisher's non-fiction books on military, survivalist, weapons and similar topics. The book portrays itself as a how-to manual on starting a career as a hit man, fulfilling contracts. However, after a number of lawsuits claiming that the book was used as a handbook in several murders, the publication of the book was stopped. ''The FBI Files'' is an American television docudrama series that originally ran from 1998 to 2006 on the Discovery Channel and produced by New Dominion Pictures. The show was cancelled in 2006. However, Court TV Mystery, Discovery, and its sister network, Investigation Discovery, aired re-runs until October 2012. Investigation Discovery only showed episodes from seasons 5,6, and 7. As of October 2012, the network now airs episodes from the earlier seasons (although not necessarily in chronological order), with updated information about the cases at the end of most episodes. Up to late September 2012, WE tv showed episodes from seasons 1-4, but the network had removed the episode introductions by Jim Kallstrom.
