Lawrence High School (Maine)
Lawrence High School is a school public secondary school in Fairfield, Maine, United States. It is a part of the Maine School Administrative District (MSAD) 49 and is the district's only public high school. Lawrence serves students from the four towns of Albion, Benton, Clinton, and Fairfield. It offers dual enrollment credits through the local colleges Thomas and KVCC. Students can also earn college credits through a variety of AP classes. Sports Lawrence High School offers several sports both in varsity and junior varsity. These sports include American football, soccer, cross country, marching band, indoor track, basketball, outdoor track, softball, field hockey, cheerleading, hockey, golf, bowling, swimming, wrestling, and baseball. Fairfield, Maine
Fairfield is a town in Somerset County, Maine, United States. The population was 6,484 at the 2020 census. The town includes Fairfield Center, Fairfield village and Hinckley, and borders the city of Waterville to the south. It is home to the Good Will-Hinckley School, Lawrence High School and Kennebec Valley Community College. History The area was territory of the Canibas tribe of Abenaki Indians residing at Taconnet village, once located downriver at the confluence of the Sebasticook and Kennebec rivers in what is today Winslow. Softball
Softball is a game similar to baseball played with a larger ball on a smaller field. Softball is played competitively at club levels, the college level, and the professional level. The game was first created in 1887 in Chicago by George Hancock. There are two rule sets for softball generally: ''slow pitch softball'' and ''fastpitch''. Cindy Blodgett
Cindy Lee Blodgett (born December 23, 1975) is a former collegiate and professional basketball player. She was also the head coach at University of Maine from 2007 to 2011. Blodgett attended Lawrence High School in Fairfield, Maine, where she was an all-star basketball player. She led the Bulldogs to a four-year career record of 84–4. Throughout that four-year period they won four state class A championships. Her tremendous accolades have made her a hero across the state of Maine. Playing career Blodgett was a standout player for the women's basketball team at the University of Maine from 1994 to 1998. Bruce Bickford (athlete)
Bruce Emery Bickford (born March 12, 1957) is a retired long-distance runner from the United States. He claimed the gold medal at the 1987 Pan American Games in the Men's 10,000 metres, and represented his native country in the 1988 Summer Olympics. He set his personal best (27:37.17) in the 10,000 metres in 1985 in Stockholm, Sweden. Bickford won a gold medal in the 1989 United States Olympic Festival Half Marathon.
