Lawrence Chelin
Lawrence Chelin (24 August 1958 – 23 June 2020) was a South African professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Career Chelin played for Arcadia Shepherds‚ Durban United and Durban City, as well as for American team the Atlanta Chiefs in 1981. With Durban City he won the National Soccer League in 1985 and 1986. He also played for the multiracial South Africa Invitational XI in 1976, and for the national team in 1977. He died on 23 June 2020 from leukemia. Midfielder
A midfielder is an outfield position in association football. Midfielders may play an exclusively defensive role, breaking up attacks, and are in that case known as defensive midfielders. As central midfielders often go across boundaries, with mobility and passing ability, they are often referred to as deep-lying midfielders, play-makers, box-to-box midfielders, or holding midfielders. Eden Hazard
Eden Michael Walter Hazard (born 7 January 1991) is a Belgian professional footballer who plays as a winger or attacking midfielder for La Liga club Real Madrid. Known for his creativity, dribbling, passing and vision, Hazard is considered one of the best players of his generation. Hazard is the son of two former footballers and began his career in Belgium playing for local youth clubs. In 2005, he moved to France, where he began his senior career with Ligue 1 club Lille. Hazard spent two years in the club's academy and, at the age of 16, made his professional debut in November 2007. He became an integral part of the Lille team under manager Rudi Garcia. Neil Tovey
Neil Robert Tovey OIS (born 2 July 1962) is a South African football coach and former player and also brother of former footballer Mark Tovey. He was born in Pretoria. He holds the record for most appearances in the National Soccer League. Early career Tovey was born in Pretoria but grew up in Durban. He had been playing soccer since 1969. He aspired to be a doctor before opting to play professional football. His brother Mark who was also a footballer used to give him football lessons. He was also coached at junior level at Juventus Durban by Clive Barker. Club career Durban City He made his professional debut for Durban City in 1981 and won the 1982 and 1983 NPSL titles under Clive Barker and played 176 league games. Tovey was transfer listed on 12 March 1986. AmaZulu He scored on debut in a 2--1 win over Arcadia Shepherds in Durban on 4 April 1986.
