Lawrence Cager
Lawrence Cager (born August 20, 1997) is an American football tight end for the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Miami (FL) and Georgia. Early life and high school Cager attended Calvert Hall College High School in Towson, Maryland, where he played high school football. He was ranked as a four-star prospect by Rivals.com. College career Cager had 45 receptions for 681 yards and 10 receiving touchdowns in his three seasons at Miami (FL) until transferring to Georgia for his senior season. Cager had 33 receptions for 476 yards and four receiving touchdowns in his lone season at Georgia. The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns. Because of the hybrid nature of the position, the tight end's role in any given offense depends on the tactical preferences and philosophy of the head coach as well as overall team dynamic.
