Permanent Fatal Error
Permanent Fatal Error (PFE) is a project by Olivier Manchion, Ulan Bator founder member, and long time Faust collaborator. PFE first album is entitled Law Speed and was released in 2004 by Wallace Records, Klangbad -the label of Faust core member Hans-Joachim Irmler - and Ruminance. The musician defines this music as "deaf-blues". Olivier Manchion (born 1971) is a French musician. Manchion was born in Suresnes, near Paris. In 1987, he started to perform on bass guitar with Amaury Cambuzat. They founded Ulan Bator (band), Ulan Bator in 1993. They released albums in 1995 on Les Disques Du Soleil Et De L'Acier label. From 1995 to 1998, their studio recording was based in a disused chalk mine in Bougival ("Cradle of Impressionism"), near Paris. In 1996 meets Jean-Hervé Péron and immediately starts a long friendship and collaboration with Faust (band), Faust. The first musical meeting was entitled (and released later) as "Collectif Met(z)." After that, in 1997, a French/Swiss tour as "Faust including Ulan Bator". From 1995 to 1998, Olivier performed several times with Sleaze Art, a 30 guitars collective by Kasper T. Toeplitz (Ircam). Ulan Bator (band)
Ulan Bator is a French Experimental rock, experimental post-rock band founded in 1993 by Amaury Cambuzat and Olivier Manchion. They got their name from Ulan Bator, the capital city of Mongolia. They create lengthy instrumental music with influence from industrial music, industrial and krautrock bands like Can (band), Can, Neu! and Faust (band), Faust. History Amaury Cambuzat (vocals, guitar) and Olivier Manchion (bass) began to play together in 1987. While in Paris in 1993, they formed Ulan Bator with drummer Franck Lantignac. Recommended Records (RēR) is a British independent record label and distribution network founded by Chris Cutler with Nick Hobbs in March 1978. RēR features largely "Rock in Opposition" and related music, but it also distributes selected music released on other independent labels. In 1982 Cutler established November Books, the publishing wing of Recommended Records, and between 1985 and 1997, Recommended Records and November Books published ''RēR Quarterly'', a "quarterly" sound-magazine edited by Cutler.
