Law Heng Kiang
Dato' Law Heng Kiang is a Malaysian politician who served as Member of the Penang State Legislative Assembly for Batu Lancang seat from 1999 to 2004 and 2008 to 2018. He is a member of Heritage Party (WARISAN) and was a member of Democratic Action Party (DAP), a component party of Pakatan Harapan (PH). He left DAP in 2022 and subsequently joined WARISAN. The Malay language has a complex system of Style (manner of address), styles, titles and honorifics which are used extensively in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and the southern Philippines. 1999 Malaysian State Elections
State assembly elections were held in Malaysia on 29 November 1999 in all states except Sabah and Sarawak. The elections were held alongside general elections, and saw the opposition win a total of 113 seats, 98 of which went to the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), 11 to the Democratic Action Party (DAP) and 4 for the People's Justice Party. In the states of Kelantan and Terengganu, the PAS won by a huge margin–41-2 against Barisan Nasional and 28-4 respectively–hence allowing them to form the state governments in these states. In addition, the PAS also captured one-third of the seats in Kedah, with the remaining two-thirds going to Barisan Nasional (United Malays National Organisation won 16 seats and the Malaysian Chinese Association 2). 2013 Penang State Election
The 13th Penang election was held on 5 May 2013. Polling took place in 40 constituencies throughout the State of Penang, with each electing a State Assemblyman to the Penang State Legislative Assembly. The election was conducted by the Malaysian Election Commission. The legislative body had been dissolved on 5 April by the Governor of Penang, Abdul Rahman Abbas, on the advice of the incumbent Chief Minister, Lim Guan Eng, who also led the state's ruling coalition, Pakatan Rakyat (PR). Electoral candidates were nominated on 20 April. The PR not only successfully defended its two-thirds majority in the Penang State Legislative Assembly, it also captured an additional constituency from the state opposition, Barisan Nasional (BN), bringing PR's tally to 30 seats. Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia
The Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia ( en, Malaysian People's Movement Party, commonly abbreviated as GERAKAN or less commonly as PGRM) is a liberal political party in Malaysia. Formed in 1968, Gerakan gained prominence in the 1969 general election when it defeated the ruling Alliance Party in Penang and won the majority of seats in Penang's state legislature. In 1972, Gerakan joined the Alliance Party, which later became Barisan Nasional coalition Party (BN), the ruling coalition of Malaysia until 2018. Tan Tee Beng
Tan Tee Beng (; born 21 February 1972) is a Malaysian independent politician. From 2008 to 2013 he was the Member of the Parliament of Malaysia for the Nibong Tebal constituency in Penang, Malaysia. Tan was elected to Parliament in the 2008 general election for the opposition National Justice Party (KeADILan) which later change to People's Justice Party (PKR) party, unseating Zainal Abidin Osman, a government Minister. On 1 March 2010, Tan announced he was leaving PKR to sit as an Independent member of Parliament. His resignation from PKR followed the instigation of disciplinary action against him by the party after he criticised Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng from the party's Pakatan Rakyat coalition partner the Democratic Action Party.
