Law Enforcement In San Marino
Law enforcement in San Marino is the responsibility of the centralized Civil Police, the Corps of Gendarmerie of San Marino (militarized police), and the Fortress Guard (border patrol, part of the Military of San Marino). These three organisations have been providing law enforcement in San Marino since a statute in 1987, which redefined their roles. Their responsibilities were further defined by regulations for the Gendarmerie and the Fortress Guard, which was approved by the Government of San Marino in 2008. Under the 2008 regulations the Gendarmerie and the Fortress Guards are responsible for policing, criminal investigation, national penitentiary, changing the guard, border patrol, customs control, personal protection, and national security, while the Civil Police are tasked with tax collection, domestic security, traffic control, and civil defence. All three agencies are subordinate to the Secretary of State of Home Affairs. At the end of 2012, there were 160 police offic ...

Polizia San Marino Posto Di Blocco
The ''Polizia di Stato'' (State Police or P.S.) is one of the national police forces of Italy. Alongside the Carabinieri, it is the main police force for providing police duties, primarily to cities and large towns, and with its child agencies it is also responsible for highway patrol (''autostrade''), railways (''ferrovie''), airports (''aeroporti''), customs (together with the ''Guardia di Finanza'') as well as certain waterways, and assisting the local police forces. It was a military force until 1981 when the Italian State Law 121 was passed. This converted the State Police to a civil force, which is in contrast to the other main police forces of Italy: the ''Arma dei Carabinieri'', which is a military police (gendarmerie) force and the ''Guardia di Finanza'', the Italian customs and border protection police that also falls in the military corps category. The ''Polizia di Stato'' is the principal Italian police force for the maintenance of public security and as such it is ...

Custom Controls
In computer programming, a Visual Basic Extension (commonly abbreviated VBX) or custom control, was the component model used in Microsoft Visual Basic versions 1.0 to 3.0. It is still supported in the 16-bit version of version 4.0, but was made obsolete by OCXs. VBX has also been supported in the first, 16-bit version of Borland Delphi. The VBX specification was created so that developers could extend Visual Basic. Since at the time Visual Basic was an interpreted language with limited speed, VBXs, which were most often written in C or C++, provided the ability to create very powerful and efficient user interface sub-components which could be assembled into applications using Visual Basic as the glue. Visual Basic 4.0 added support for the newer OLE Controls or OCXs (which became ActiveX controls), implicitly deprecating VBX controls. OCXs are based on the Component Object Model. Each version of Visual Basic has come with many controls. By incorporating VBX controls into Visual ...

Civil Defence
Civil defense ( en, region=gb, civil defence) or civil protection is an effort to protect the citizens of a state (generally non-combatants) from man-made and natural disasters. It uses the principles of emergency operations: prevention, mitigation, preparation, response, or emergency evacuation and recovery. Programs of this sort were initially discussed at least as early as the 1920s and were implemented in some countries during the 1930s as the threat of war and aerial bombardment grew. Civil-defense structures became widespread after authorities recognised the threats posed by nuclear weapons. Since the end of the Cold War, the focus of civil defense has largely shifted from responding to military attack to dealing with emergencies and disasters in general. The new concept is characterised by a number of terms, each of which has its own specific shade of meaning, such as '' crisis management'', ''emergency management'', ''emergency preparedness'', ''contingency planning ...

Security
Security is protection from, or resilience against, potential harm (or other unwanted coercive change) caused by others, by restraining the freedom of others to act. Security mostly refers to protection from hostile forces, but it has a wide range of other senses: for example, as the absence of harm (e.g. freedom from want); as the presence of an essential good (e.g. food security); as resilience against potential damage or harm (e.g. secure foundations); as secrecy (e.g. a secure telephone line); as containment (e.g. a secure room or cell); and as a state of mind (e.g. emotional security). The term is also used to refer to acts and systems whose purpose may be to provide security (security companies, security forces, security guard, cyber security systems, security cameras, remote guard ...

Similarly, national security risks include, in addition to the actions of other nation states, action by violent non-state actors, by narcotic cartels, and by multinational corporations, and also the effects of natural disasters.
