Lavinia Warner
Lavinia Warner is a British television writer and producer. She created several successful TV series in the 1980s and 1990s, all of which featured women in the leading roles. These included the World War II female internee drama '' Tenko'' (1981-5) for the BBC, secret agent drama ''Wish Me Luck'' (1988–90) for London Weekend Television (LWT) and the taxi-firm series ''Rides'' (1992-3), again for the BBC. For the latter two series she also acted as producer. Warner is now the CEO of Warner Sisters, an independent production company. Career After studying history and psychology at university, Warner became a PA in the drama department at London Weekend Television (LWT), before moving on to Thames Television as a researcher, mainly on '' This is Your Life''. Tenko (TV Series)
''Tenko'' is a television drama series co-produced by the BBC and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), which was broadcast between 1981 and 1985. The series dealt with the experiences of British, Australian and Dutch women who were captured after the Fall of Singapore in February 1942, after the Japanese invasion, and held in a fictional Japanese internment camp on a Japanese-occupied island between Singapore and Australia. Having been separated from their husbands, herded into makeshift holding camps and largely forgotten by the British War Office, the women had to learn to cope with appalling living conditions, malnutrition, disease, violence and death. Robert Dennis Harris (born 7 March 1957) is a British novelist and former journalist. Although he began his career in journalism and non-fiction, his fame rests upon his works of historical fiction. Beginning with the best-seller ''Fatherland'', Harris focused on events surrounding the Second World War, followed by works set in ancient Rome. His most recent works centre on contemporary history. Bruce Beresford
Bruce Beresford (; born 16 August 1940) is an Australian film director who has made more than 30 feature films over a 50-year career, both locally and internationally in the United States. Wish Me Luck
''Wish Me Luck'' is a British television drama about the exploits of British women undercover agents during the Second World War. The series was made by London Weekend Television for the ITV network between 17 January 1988 and 25 February 1990 and created by Lavinia Warner and Jill Hyem, who had previously produced and written the BBC women prisoner of war series '' Tenko''. The series was filmed on location in England and France. ''Wish Me Luck'' is similar to '' Tenko'' and the 1970s BBC drama '' Secret Army'', in that it deals with strong female characters coping under extreme conditions in wartime.
