Lavinia Gould
Lavinia Gould (born 15 March 1983) is a New Zealand rugby league footballer who plays for the Brisbane Broncos in the NRL Women's Premiership. A in rugby league and a flyhalf in rugby union, she is a former New Zealand and New Zealand sevens representative and previously played for the Queensland Reds in the Super W. Playing career Rugby union Born in Whakatane, Gould played provincial rugby union for Bay of Plenty and Wellington. In 2000, at 17-years old, she was a member of the first official New Zealand women's sevens team, who took part in the 2000 Hong Kong Sevens. On 9 November 2013, she was suspended for two years by the IRB following a positive drug test after the 2012 Dubai Women's Sevens. Gould tested positive for methylhexaneamine (MHA), which was found in a dietary supplement she used during the tournament. 2012 Dubai Women's Sevens
The 2012 Dubai Women's Sevens was a rugby sevens tournament held between 30 November 2012 and 1 December 2012 at The Sevens Stadium in Dubai. It was the sixth edition of the tournament and the first stop on the 2012–13 IRB Women's Sevens World Series New Zealand were the first champions of the new series after defeating South Africa 41–0. Format The teams were drawn into three pools of four teams each. Each team played everyone in their pool one time. The top two teams from each pool advanced to the Cup/Plate brackets. QRL Women's Premiership
The QRL Women's Premiership, known as the BMD Premiership due to sponsorship from BMD Group, is the top level of women's rugby league football in Queensland, Australia. Run by the Queensland Rugby League, the competition is Queensland's first statewide open age women's competition. On 3 March 2021, the QRL announced that the Souths Logan Magpies would not compete in that season's premiership but planned to return in 2022. Valkyries Queensland, a new team made up of players from Souths Logan and other Queensland teams, were named to take their place. Teams The QRL Women's Premiership consists of eight teams, five from South East Queensland and one each from North Queensland, Central Queensland and Northern New South Wales. Wests Panthers
The Western Suburbs Panthers, often simply referred to as Wests for short, are a rugby league club based in the western suburbs of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The club is the oldest in the QRL and despite absences from the top grade in recent years and several name changes the club continued to operate. After leaving the Queensland Cup, they participated in the Brisbane A-Grade competition from 2005 until their senior sides disbanding in 2012. The Australia women's national rugby league team, also known as the Australian Jillaroos, or Harvey Norman Jillaroos for sponsorship reasons, represents Australia in women's rugby league. The Sydney Roosters are an Australian professional Rugby league, Rugby League Football Club based in the Eastern Suburbs (Sydney) and parts of inner Sydney. 2018 NRL Grand Final
The 2018 NRL Grand Final was the conclusive and premiership-deciding game of the 2018 National Rugby League season and was played on Sunday September 30 at Sydney's ANZ Stadium. The match was contested between minor premiers the Sydney Roosters and defending premiers the Melbourne Storm. In front of a crowd of 82,688, Sydney won the match 21-6 to claim their 14th premiership title and their first since 2013. Roosters five-eighth Luke Keary was awarded the Clive Churchill Medal as the game's official man of the match. St George Illawarra Dragons
The St. George Illawarra Dragons is an Australian professional rugby league football club, representing both the Illawarra and St George regions of New South Wales. The club has competed in the National Rugby League since 1999 after a joint-venture was formed between the St. George Dragons (est. 1921) and the Illawarra Steelers (est. 1982). They officially formed as the game's first joint-venture club on 23 September 1998 and it remains the only inter-city team in the NRL. 2018 NRL Women's Season
The 2018 NRL Women's Premiership (NRLW) was the first season of professional women's rugby league in Australia. Teams Pre-season Only two of the four sides, the Brisbane Broncos and New Zealand Warriors, took part in pre-season trial games. The Warriors played two fixtures against a combined Auckland side, while the Broncos played the Papua New Guinea Orchids as a curtain-raiser to the Brisbane Broncos-Manly Sea Eagles NRL fixture. The New South Wales Waratahs ( or ;), referred to as the Waratahs, are an Australian professional rugby union team representing the majority of New South Wales in the Super Rugby competition.
