Lavinia-Corina Cosma (born 30 October 1981) is the co-president of the Green Party (Greens), former Romanian deputy, elected in 2016. Politics In 2020, she ran for the Târgu Mureș mayor, which she lost, obtaining 505 votes. The former Mures deputy Lavinia Cosma was elected on Saturday, September 3, as co-president of the Green Party, on the occasion of the Extraordinary Congress that took place in Bucharest. The Green Party - The Greens ( ro, Partidul Verde (Verzii)), often shortened to The Greens ( ro, Verzii) is a Romanian political party that ideologically follows green politics and progressivism. The Green Party is the only political party in Romania that is a member of the European Green Party (EGP). Thus, it is a full rights member of the European Green Party (EGP), represented by the Greens–European Free Alliance in the European Parliament. The Save Romania Union ( ro, Uniunea Salvați România, USR) is a liberal political party active in Romania and Moldova, currently the third largest party in the Parliament with 43 deputies and 22 senators, and fifth at national level (following the 2020 Romanian local elections), after the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR/RMDSZ) and the People's Movement Party (PMP), two smaller centre-right political parties in the country. The Socialist Republic of Romania ( ro, Republica Socialistă România, RSR) was a Marxist–Leninist one-party socialist state that existed officially in Romania from 1947 to 1989.
