Lauritz Weibull
Lauritz Ulrik Absalon Weibull (2 April 1873 – 2 December 1960) was a Swedish professor and historian. Biography He was born in Lund, Sweden, as the son of history professor Martin Weibull and the brother of historian Curt Weibull. He enrolled at the University of Lund in 1892, completed his B.A. 1892, his licentiate degree in 1899 and defended his dissertation and received a docentship the same year. He was appointed director of the Regional Archives of Lund in 1903 and became professor of history at his alma mater in 1919. Lauritz Weibull covered a wide range of topics from the early Middle Ages until the 17th and 18th centuries and before finishing his doctoral dissertation, he had already published studies on literary subjects. Lund
Lund (, , ) is a city in the southern Swedish provinces of Sweden, province of Scania, across the Øresund, Öresund strait from Copenhagen. The town had 91,940 inhabitants out of a municipal total of 121,510 . It is the seat of Lund Municipality, Scania County. The Øresund Region, Öresund Region, which includes Lund, is home to more than 4.1 million people. Archeologists date the foundation of Lund to around 990, when Scania was part of Denmark. Curt Weibull
Curt Weibull (19 August 1886 – 10 November 1991) was a Swedish historian, educator and author. Biography Curt Hugo Johannes Weibull was born in Lund, Sweden. He was a member of the noted Swedish Weibull family. He was the son of professor Martin Weibull (1835–1902) and brother of historian Lauritz Weibull (1873–1960). He and his brother both attended the University of Lund. The Weibull brothers have been characterized as influential in raising the scientific standards of history research in Sweden and Denmark. Curt Weibull was a professor of history at the University of Gothenburg from 1927–1953 and its rector from 1936 to 1946. Docent
The title of docent is conferred by some European universities to denote a specific academic appointment within a set structure of academic ranks at or below the full professor rank, similar to a British readership, a French " ''maître de conférences''" (MCF), and equal to or above the title of " associate professor". Docent is also used at some (mainly German) universities generically for a person who has the right to teach. The term is derived from the Latin word ''docēns'', which is the present active participle of ''docēre'' (to teach, to lecture). Becoming a docent is often referred to as Habilitation or doctor of science and is an academic qualification that shows that the holder is qualified to be employed at the level of associate or full professor. Charles X Gustav, also Carl Gustav ( sv, Karl X Gustav; 8 November 1622 – 13 February 1660), was King of Sweden from 1654 until his death. He was the son of John Casimir, Count Palatine of Zweibrücken-Kleeburg and Catherine of Sweden. After his father's death he also succeeded him as Pfalzgraf. Sven Lagerbring
Sven Lagerbring (originally Sven Bring; after being knighted, he wrote his name as ''Sven Lager Bring''; 24 February 1707 – 5 December 1787) was a Swedish professor and historian. He has been described as "the first Swedish historian in the modern sense." Biography Sven Bring was born in Klinta, Bosjökloster, Scania, Sweden. He was the son of vicar and Abela Olufsdotter Klinthea. He began his studies in 1720 at Lund University, where he became assistant professor of law in 1731, then spent a few years in Stockholm as a teacher for the Fersen family, von Fersen family, during which time he had the opportunity to conduct research in the National Archives of Sweden, National Archives. Birgitta Odén
Agnes Birgitta Odén-Dunér (11 August 1921 – 5 May 2016) was a Swedes, Swedish historian. She was the first woman to hold a professorship at Lund University, and was also the first female history professor in Sweden. She was a member of several local and international literal and historical academies such as the Finnish Society of Sciences and Letters; The Science Society in Lund (honorary); the Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities; the Academy of Finland; the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters from 1977; and the Academia Europaea. Life Birgitta Oden was born on 11 August 1921 in Uppsala. She was the daughter of Professor Sven Odén and Agnes Bergman, and the sister of Svante Odén. Rolf Torstendahl
Rolf Torstendahl (born 9 January 1936, in Jönköping) is emeritus professor of history at the University of Uppsala where he has spent most of his career. He was Sven Warburg professor of history at the University of Stockholm from 1978 to 1980. Torstendahl has a special interest in bureaucratisation, the professionalism of engineers, and historiography.
