Lauritz H. And Emma Smith House
The Lauritz H. and Emma Smith House is a historic house in Draper, Utah, >United States, that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). Description The house is located at 12423 South Relation Street and was built in stages from 1884 to 1947. It has also been known as the Robert L. and Doris B. Smith House. It was owned and mostly built by Lauritz Heber Smith, son of Lauritz Smith, who was one of the earliest settlers of Draper. It is historic for its association with the Smith family and has good integrity of its many stages of development. It has two outbuildings, one being a c.1885 stone granary. and It was listed on the NRHP February 1, 2006. Draper is a city in Salt Lake and Utah counties in the U.S. state of Utah, about south of Salt Lake City along the Wasatch Front. As of the 2020 census, the population is 51,017, up from 7,143 in 1990. Draper is part of two metropolitan areas; the Salt Lake County portion is in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area, while the Utah County portion is in the Provo-Orem metropolitan area. The Utah State Prison is in Draper, near Point of the Mountain, alongside Interstate 15. Gary Gilmore's execution occurred on 17 January 1977. The Utah Legislature voted to relocate the state prison to Draper in 2014 and in 2015 approved the Salt Lake City location the prison relocation commission recommended. The Draper Prison will close in 2022. Inmates will be moved to a new prison facility in Salt Lake City; the new prison is slated for completion in mid-2022. The Rinckel Mansion is a historic house in Carson City, Nevada, United States, that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). Description The house is located at 102 North Curry Street and was built in 1872. It was home of Mathias Rinckel, a merchant in Carson City. It was designed and built by Ecole de Beaux Arts-trained architect Charles H. Jones. It was deemed significant for its association with Rinckel and "because it is one of the finest and best-preserved examples of French Victorian architecture remaining in the American West." and It was listed on the NRHP November 20, 1975.
