Laurent Carnol
Laurent Carnol (born 17 October 1989) is a Luxembourgish swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke events. Carnol set national records of 1:01.39 (100 m) and 2:09.78 (200 m) in the men's breaststroke at the 2010 European Aquatics Championships in Budapest, Hungary, and at the 2012 European Long Course Meet in Luxembourg City, respectively. Carnol is also a member of SC Le Dauphin Ettelbruck under his personal coach Ian Armiger, and currently, a chemistry student at Loughborough University in Leicestershire, England. Carnol made his first Luxembourgian team, as a 19-year-old, at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. He qualified for the men's 200 m breaststroke by eclipsing a FINA B-cut of 2:17.29 from the European Championships in Eindhoven, Netherlands. 2010 European Aquatics Championships
The 2010 European Aquatics Championships were held from 4–15 August 2010 in Budapest and Balatonfüred, Hungary. It was the fourth time that the city of Budapest hosts this event after 1926, 1958 and 2006. Events in swimming, diving, synchronised swimming (synchro) and open water swimming were scheduled. The 2010 European Water Polo Championships was held separately, from 29 August – 11 September in Zagreb, Croatia. The 2008 Summer Olympics (), officially the Games of the XXIX Olympiad () and also known as Beijing 2008 (), were an international multisport event held from 8 to 24 August 2008, in Beijing, China. A total of 10,942 athletes from 204 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) competed in 28 sports and 302 events, one event more than those scheduled for the 2004 Summer Olympics. Jakob Jóhann Sveinsson
Jakob Jóhann Sveinsson (born 24 November 1982 in Reykjavík, Iceland) is a 4-time Olympic swimmer from Iceland who started swimming for S.C. Ægir in 1991. He swam for Iceland at the 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics. At the 2000 Olympics, he swam to Iceland's high-ever result in Olympic swimming in finishing 25th.
