Laurence Owen (composer)
Laurence Owen is a British composer, musician, comedian and actor. Early career Laurence Owen's career began in the 1990s as a child actor. He had notable credits in the feature film ''Wilde'' (playing Vyvyan Wilde opposite Stephen Fry) and the BBC period drama Berkeley Square, in which he had a recurring role. Wilde (film)
''Wilde'' is a 1997 British biographical film directed by Brian Gilbert and starring Stephen Fry in the title role. The screenplay by Julian Mitchell is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning 1987 biography of Oscar Wilde by Richard Ellmann. Fry received critical acclaim for his performance as well as for his likeness to Wilde, and was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actor – Drama. Lindsay Sharman
Lindsay Sharman is a British writer, comedian and actress. Career Sharman began her comedy career in 2009. After reaching the finals of the 2010 Funny Women awards, she took two shows to the 2011 Edinburgh Festival Fringe - Giants Of Comedy and A Time Traveller's Guide to Surviving Childhood as part of PBH's Free Fringe. At Edinburgh 2012, she performed in George Ryegold's God-In-A-Bag at the Underbelly Bristo Square. She performs in character as Madame Magenta and as The Poet, and took her first solo show Madame Magenta: Libros Mystica to Edinburgh in 2014. Malcolm Hardee (5 January 1950 – 31 January 2005) was an English comedian and comedy club proprietor. His high reputation among his peers rests on his outrageous publicity stunts and on the help and advice he gave to successful British alternative comedians early in their careers, acting as "godfather to a generation of comic talent in the 1980s". ''The Stage'' is a British weekly newspaper and website covering the entertainment industry and particularly theatre. It was founded in 1880. It contains news, reviews, opinion, features, and recruitment advertising, mainly directed at those who work in theatre and the performing arts. The Edinburgh Festival Fringe (also referred to as The Fringe, Edinburgh Fringe, or Edinburgh Fringe Festival) is the world's largest arts and media festival, which in 2019 spanned 25 days and featured more than 59,600 performances of 3,841 different shows in 322 venues. Great Ormond Street Hospital (informally GOSH or Great Ormond Street, formerly the Hospital for Sick Children) is a children's hospital located in the Bloomsbury area of the London Borough of Camden, and a part of Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust. Weirdos Comedy Club
Weirdos Comedy Club is a UK based group of alternative comedians founded by Adam Larter in 2010. Origins Weirdos Comedy Club, commonly referred to as "Weirdos", was formed by Adam Larter as an experimental night and a safe place to try out riskier or more alternative material than usual circuit comedy. Nights generally focussed on anarchic and silly sets deemed too alternative for more streamlined stand-up common on the UK comedy circuit. They have been compared to the 80's alternative comedy group The Comic Strip. Originally housed in the Lion, Kings Cross it grew from a comedy night into a group and over the years nights and projects became larger. Adam Larter
Adam Larter is a British alternative comedian and founder of Weirdos Comedy Club. Larter is most often associated with Weirdos but he is also a solo performer whose work is noted for its "lunacy" and uncompromising anarchy that often defies description. He has completed several solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe as well as ''Plumpy Nut'', a show he wrote and performed with fellow Weirdo Ali Brice which was described as ‘an obscure rags to riches story about a pig’.
