Young (surname)
The surname Young has several origins. In some cases – particularly in England, Northern Ireland, and Scotland – the surname is derived from the Middle English ''yunge'', ''yonge'' ("young"); this particular surname usually originated to distinguish a younger son. In other cases, the surname is an anglicisation of any number of like-sounding, or cognate surnames in other languages. For example: the German ''Jung'' and ''Junk''; the Dutch ''Jong''; in Sweden, ''Ljung''; and the French ''Lejeune'' and ''Lajeunesse''. The surname can also be a form of the French ''Dion'' or ''Guyon''. In yet other cases, it is a romanization of Chinese Yang (/). Very rarely, it may be a romanization of the Korean surnames Yong () or Yeong (); however, if seen in a Korean name, it is far more likely that Young is a portion of the ''given'' name instead. There have been five baronetcies created for persons with the surname Young, one in the Baronetage of England, one in the Baronetage of Gr ...

Underage
In law, a minor is someone under a certain age, usually the age of majority, which demarcates an underage individual from legal adulthood. The age of majority depends upon jurisdiction and application, but it is commonly 18. ''Minor'' may also be used in contexts that are unconnected to the overall age of majority. For example, the smoking and drinking age in the United States is 21, and younger people below this age are sometimes called ''minors'' in the context of tobacco and alcohol law, even if they are at least 18. The terms underage or ''minor'' often refer to those under the age of majority, but may also refer to a person under other legal age limits, such as the age of consent, marriageable age, driving age, voting age, etc. Such age limits are often different from the age of majority. The concept of ''minor'' is not sharply defined in most jurisdictions. The age of criminal responsibility and consent, the age at which school attendance is no longer compulsory, th ...
