Lauren Poe (born 1970/1971) is an American politician and the mayor of Gainesville, Florida, where he has lived since 1982. He has been mayor since 2016. Early life and career Poe received his bachelor's degree in History, as well as his Master's in Social Sciences from the University of Florida. He is married to Emily Monda-Poe. Together they have 2 daughters, Elizabeth and Beatrice. He taught in Alachua County since 1998, first at Ft.
