Lauren DeStefano
Lauren DeStefano (born October 13, 1984) is an American young adult fiction, young adult author. She is best known for the Wither (DeStefano novel), Chemical Garden series of novels and her gallows humor. Biography DeStefano was born in New Haven, Connecticut, and has an English degree from Albertus Magnus College. Her first book, Wither (DeStefano novel), Wither, a dystopian young adult novel, was published in 2011 by Simon & Schuster. Wither (DeStefano novel), Wither is the first book in The Chemical Garden Trilogy, and the second novel, ''Fever (Destefano novel), Fever'', debuted at No. 6 on the New York Times bestseller list in March 2012. The third and final book, ''Sever'', was released on February 12, 2013. The trilogy achieved No. 10 on the New York Times bestseller list for children's series in March 2013. Albertus Magnus (c. 1200 – 15 November 1280), also known as Saint Albert the Great or Albert of Cologne, was a German Dominican friar, philosopher, scientist, and bishop. Later canonised as a Catholic saint, he was known during his lifetime as ''Doctor universalis'' and ''Doctor expertus'' and, late in his life, the sobriquet ''Magnus'' was appended to his name. Scholars such as James A. Weisheipl and Joachim R. Söder have referred to him as the greatest German philosopher and theologian of the Middle Ages.
