Lauren Billys
Lauren Shady (née Billys, born 14 May 1988) is an American-born eventer who represents Puerto Rico. She competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, where she finished 44th in the individual competition. In doing so, Billys became the first Puerto Rican eventer to compete at the Olympics since 1988. She was eligible to represent Puerto Rico in the event because her grandmother is Puerto Rican. Billys competed at her second Olympics in 2021, once again riding Castle Larchfield Purdy, but failed to complete the event. Visalia ( ) is a city in the agricultural San Joaquin Valley of California. The population was 141,384 as per the 2020 census. Equestrian At The 2020 Summer Olympics – Individual Eventing
The individual eventing event at the 2020 Summer Olympics is scheduled to take place from 30 July to 2 August 2021 at the Baji Koen and Sea Forest Cross-Country Course. Like all other equestrian events, the eventing competition is open-gender, with both male and female athletes competing in the same division. 65 riders from 29 nations are expected to compete. Background This will be the 25th appearance of the event, which has been held at every Summer Olympics since it was introduced in 1912. The two-time reigning Olympic champion is Michael Jung of Germany; Germany has won the last three events (Hinrich Romeike in 2008 before Jung in 2012 and 2016).
