Laura Elizabeth Jackson (born 27 December 1997) is an English cricketer who currently plays for Lancashire, North West Thunder and Manchester Originals. An all-rounder, she is a right-handed batter and right-arm medium bowler. She has previously played for Cheshire and Cumbria. Domestic career Jackson made her county debut in 2015, for Cheshire against Oxfordshire. She took six wickets in her first County Championship season, at an average of 16.50. Jackson joined Lancashire ahead of the 2016 season, but did not become a regular for the side until the 2018 season. She was the side's leading wicket-taker in the 2018 Women's Twenty20 Cup, with 9 wickets at an average of 15.33. In 2019, Jackson played one County Championship match for Cumbria, against Scotland, and took 7 wickets for 9 runs off her 10 overs, all bowled, as Scotland were all out for 72. Laura Riding Jackson (born Laura Reichenthal; January 16, 1901 – September 2, 1991), best known as Laura Riding, was an American poet, critic, novelist, essayist and short story writer. Early life She was born in New York City to Nathaniel Reichenthal, a Jewish immigrant from Galicia, and Sadie (née Edersheim), and educated at Cornell University. She met historian Louis R. Gottschalk, then a graduate assistant at Cornell, and they married in 1920. She began to write poetry, publishing first (1923–26) under the name Laura Riding Gottschalk. She became associated with the Fugitives through Allen Tate, and they published her poems in ''The Fugitive'' magazine. They awarded her the Nashville Prize in 1924. Her marriage with Gottschalk ended in divorce in 1925, at the end of which year she went to England at the invitation of Robert Graves and his wife Nancy Nicholson. Lara Marie Jackson (born October 14, 1986) is a retired American competitive swimmer who specialized in freestyle. She swam for the University of Arizona from 2005 to 2009 where she was a 9-time NCAA champion. She is the former American record-holder in both the 50-yard freestyle, and the long course 50-meter freestyle. Jackson set the American record in the prelims of the women's 50-meter freestyle at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials with a time of 24.50. Her record lasted only hours as Dara Torres broke it later that afternoon in the semi-finals. Jackson ultimately finished 3rd in the 50 free behind Torres and Jessica Hardy. Despite Hardy's withdrawal from the Olympic team prior to the Games, Jackson was not added to the roster.
