The Eurovision Song Contest 2005 was the 50th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Kyiv, Ukraine, following the country's victory at the with the song "Wild Dances" by Ruslana. Lithuania was represented in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 by "Little by Little" performed by Laura and the Lovers. It was chosen at the Lithuanian National Final on 26 February. The song was written and composed by Swedes Bobby Ljunggren and William "Billy" Butt. Before Eurovision ''Nacionalinė atranka į Euroviziją 2005'' Semi-finals The final was preceded by seven semi-finals, which took place on a weekly basis between 8 January and 19 February 2005. Linas And Simona
Linas and Simona was a duo, which represented Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004. With 26 points they placed 16th in the semifinal and could not participate in the final. However, they befriended Ruslana, the winner of the Eurovision 2004, and together recorded ''Fight for Love and Freedom''. This song was released in album ''I Love U'' on 22 July 2005. In 2005 they were representatives of an anti-AIDS campaign in Lithuania. The couple separated in late 2007 ending the duo. Lithuania has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest (known in Lithuania as ''Eurovizijos dainų konkursas'') 22 times since its debut in 1994, where Ovidijus Vyšniauskas finished last, receiving "nul points". LT United were a Lithuanian music group created in 2006 for the sole purpose of representing Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006. The group entered the Lithuanian pre-selection event with the song "We Are the Winners", winning with almost twice as many votes as the runners-up, and finished 6th in the Eurovision Song Contest final with 162 points. History LT United were created in early 2006 after the well-known Lithuanian rock musician Andrius Mamontovas decided it would be a good idea to enter the Eurovision Song Contest. The group consisted of six individuals who were already well known in Lithuania, with all six having some form of musical or television background.
