Laukaha
Laukaha is a very old Border Town in the district of Madhubani in the Indian state of Bihar. It is close to the border with Nepal and the Nepalese town of Thadi. The population of Laukaha is between 11, 000 and 15, 000. Laukaha has a primary school, high school, inter college, a police station, a post office, a branch of State Bank of India & Gramin Bank in the market. Laukaha has three main temples - Panchanath (Lord Shiva temple), Bhagwati temple (Maa Durga temple) and Ramjanki temple (Lord Rama temple). The town was historically part of Karnad Dynasty of Mithila Kings starting from Nanyadeva. Entire Terai region of Nepal was under this dynasty until British ceded part of Tirhut region Terai to Nepal. The River Bhutahi balan also draws people to the town for tourism; it is a tributary of the River Kosi. During the festive season of chhath, devotees visit this river to offer prayers to the God Sun. Thadi
Thadi ( ne, ठाड़ी) or Thadi Viswaspatti is a very old border town and a market place of Nepal in Siraha District bordering Indian town of Laukaha. It is currently part of Bhagwanpur Rural municipality. It is located nearly 370 kilometers or 107 miles east of the capital, Kathmandu. Thadi was part of Tirhut Rulers of Simraungarh. The region was under rule of Karnad Dynasty formed by Nanyadeva Thadi is one of the few towns which is a part of agreed route for Mutual Trade between India and Nepal. Madhubani district is one of the thirty-eight districts of Bihar, India, and is a part of Darbhanga division. Its administrative headquarters are located in Madhubani. Rajbiraj ( ne, राजविराज) is a mid-sized municipality located in the south-eastern part of Madhesh Province of Nepal. Rajbiraj is the district headquarters of Saptari and is the eighth largest city in the province. The township of Rajbiraj was designed in 1938 based on influence from the Indian city of Jaipur - thus making it the first township in Nepal to receive urban planning. It was declared a municipality in 1959. Rajbiraj Airport
Rajbiraj Airport is a domestic airport located in Rajbiraj serving Saptari District, a district in Madhesh Province in Nepal. After eleven years of complete shut down, the airport resumed its operations on 23 May 2018. The airport is used by Local Residents as well as Tourists who come to visit Koshi Barrage, Kishi Tappu Wildlife reserve and also as transit airport to go to nearby towns in India. History Following the days after its official inauguration in 1959 by the then transport minister Ganesh Man Singh, the airport was closed down due to inadequate infrastructures and runway safety measures. Mahendra Highway
Mahendra Highway (), also called East-West Highway () runs across the Terai geographical region of Nepal, from Mechinagar in the east to Bhim Datta in the west, cutting across the entire width of the country.
