Elizabeth Wormeley Latimer
Mary Elizabeth Wormeley Latimer (July 26, 1822 – January 4, 1904) was an English-American writer, both of original works and translations. Early life Elizabeth was born on July 26, 1822, in London. She was the daughter of Admiral Ralph Randolph Wormeley (1785–1852) and Caroline ( née Preble) Wormeley (1799–1872). Her father, a native of Virginia, was an Admiral of the British navy, and preceding his death, resided in Boston, Massachusetts. Among her siblings was Ariana Randolph Wormeley, who married the American lawyer and banker Daniel Sargent Curtis, and the nurse and author Katherine Prescott Wormeley. Her paternal grandfather was James Wormeley, great-grandfather was John Randolph, attorney general for the Colony of Virginia and her grand-uncle was Edmund Randolph, the first Attorney General of the United States. Kelly Latimer
Kelly Latimer is a combat veteran and retired United States Air Force lieutenant colonel. She was the first female research pilot to join the NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center. She works with Virgin Galactic and Virgin Orbit, and was the latter's pilot in command for their first rocket launch in January 2021. Latimer flew the T-38, T-34, Lockheed C-141 Starlifter, Boeing C-17, 747 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft and the Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy 747SP. Rebecca Latimer Felton
Rebecca Ann Felton (née Latimer; June 10, 1835 – January 24, 1930) was an American writer, lecturer, feminist, suffragist, reformer, slave owner, and politician who was the first woman to serve in the United States Senate, although she served for only one day. Felton was the most prominent woman in Georgia in the Progressive Era, and was honored by appointment to the Senate. She was sworn in on November 21, 1922, and served just 24 hours. At 87 years, nine months, and 22 days old, she was the oldest freshman senator to enter the Senate. She was the only woman to have served as a senator from Georgia until the appointment of Kelly Loeffler in 2020, nearly a hundred years later. Hugh Latimer
Hugh Latimer ( – 16 October 1555) was a Fellow of Clare College, Cambridge, and Bishop of Worcester during the Reformation, and later Church of England chaplain to King Edward VI. In 1555 under the Catholic Queen Mary I he was burned at the stake, becoming one of the three Oxford Martyrs of Anglicanism. Life Latimer was born into a family of farmers in Thurcaston, Leicestershire. His birthdate is unknown. Henry Latimer (April 24, 1752 – December 19, 1819) was an American physician and politician from Newport, Delaware. He was elected to the Continental Congress from Delaware, and was a member of the Federalist Party, who served in the Delaware General Assembly, as U.S. Representative from Delaware, and U.S. Senator from Delaware. Early life and family Latimer was born in Newport in the Delaware Colony, son of James Latimer, Sr. and Sarah Geddes. His father was a wealthy grain shipper and politician, who was a member of the House of Assembly in the 1778/79 session and a member of the Delaware convention that ratified the U.S. Constitution on December 7, 1787. Henry Latimer (January 22, 1938 – January 24, 2005) was the first African-American circuit court judge in Broward County, and was in line to become the first African-American president of the Florida Bar when he was killed in a car accident in South Florida. At the time, he was an attorney for the firm of Greenberg Traurig, a member of the Board of Trustees for the University of Miami, and a visiting professor who taught Alternative Dispute Resolution in the Florida International University College of Law. George Latimer (July 8, 1750 – June 12, 1825) was a Philadelphia merchant and member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. He served as speaker of the Pennsylvania House 1794–1798. George Stephen Latimer (born November 22, 1953) is an American politician serving as County Executive of Westchester County, New York since 2018. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served as a member of the New York State Senate for the 37th District from 2013 to 2017.
