Last Child
"Last Child" is a song by American rock band Aerosmith. It was written by Steven Tyler and Brad Whitford and released as the first single from the album '' Rocks'' in 1976. It peaked at number 21 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, one of a string of hits for the band in the mid-1970s. Structure The song is one of Brad Whitford's best-known contributions to the band. "Brad wrote, 'Take me back to sweet Tallahassee, home sweet home…'" recalled Tyler. "Whatever he put into 'Last Child', that's his moment. He can take that, and that's his, forever."Sharp, Ken: "Country roads"; ''Classic Rock'' #227, September 2016, p41 Reception '' Cash Box'' said that "it's right in the groove: a straightforward rock tune with a slick, rhythm oriented arrangement." Legacy Long after its release, "Last Child" enjoys regular airplay on rock radio and is regularly rotated into Aerosmith's concert setlist. In concert, it is often Whitford's feature spot, in which Tyler introduces him with something ...

Cash Box
''Cashbox'', also known as ''Cash Box'', was an American music industry trade magazine, originally published weekly from July 1942 to November 1996. Ten years after its dissolution, it was revived and continues as ''Cashbox Magazine'', an online magazine with weekly charts and occasional special print issues. In addition to the music industry, the magazine covered the amusement arcade industry, including jukebox machines and arcade games. History Print edition charts (1952–1996) ''Cashbox'' was one of several magazines that published record charts in the United States. Originally, no indication of which version was the biggest seller was given, but from October 25, 19 ...

Song Recordings Produced By Jack Douglas (record Producer)
A song is a musical composition intended to be performed by the human voice. This is often done at distinct and fixed pitches (melodies) using patterns of sound and silence. Songs contain various forms, such as those including the repetition and variation of sections. Written words created specifically for music, or for which music is specifically created, are called lyrics. If a pre-existing poem is set to composed music in classical music it is an art song. Songs that are sung on repeated pitches without distinct contours and patterns that rise and fall are called chants. Songs composed in a simple style that are learned informally "by ear" are often referred to as folk songs. Songs that are composed for professional singers who sell their recordings or live shows to the mass market are called popular songs. These songs, which have broad appeal, are often composed by professional songwriters, composers, and lyricists. Art songs are composed by trained classical compo ...

A Little South Of Sanity
''A Little South of Sanity'' is a live album by American hard rock band Aerosmith, released on October 20, 1998, by Geffen Records. The two-disc album features recordings taken while the band was on the Nine Lives Tour, which began in 1997 and was still ongoing at the time of the live album release, and the Get a Grip Tour, which the band was on tour from 1993 to 1994. This release was the only Aerosmith album to receive the Parental Advisory sticker, primarily due to lead singer Steven Tyler shouting profanities in between songs and modifying some song lyrics to racier ones, although some other song lyrics had profanity in their original studio versions as well. Production Shortly after the band reunited in 1984, they signed a contract to generate six albums for Geffen; three of these - the studio releases ''Done With Mirrors'', '' Permanent Vacation'' and '' Pump'' - were finished before Aerosmith agreed to a contract with Columbia Records in 1991. The contract was not du ...

Classics Live II
''Classics Live'' and ''Classics Live II'' are a set of albums by American rock band Aerosmith, released in 1986 and 1987, respectively. Together, they constitute the band's second live offering, after ''Live! Bootleg''. ''Classics Live I'' has gone platinum while ''Classics Live II'' has gone gold. ''Classics Live'' ''Classics Live!'' is made up of concert recordings from 1978 and 1984. Some of the recordings include guitarists Jimmy Crespo and Rick Dufay, who had temporarily replaced Joe Perry and Brad Whitford respectively. Different live versions of most of these songs had already been released on ''Live! Bootleg'' in 1978. Venues and dates are not listed on the sleeve, and there is only the all-encompassing and vague statement "These songs were recorded at various concerts between 1977 and 1983." It is not listed which of the four guitarists played on which tracks. The studio track "Major Barbra" was originally recorded for the album ''Get Your Wings'' but remained unrelease ...

Live! Bootleg (Aerosmith Album)
''Live! Bootleg'' is a double live album by American hard rock band Aerosmith, released in October 1978. While most of the performances were drawn from concerts in 1977 and 1978, "I Ain't Got You" and "Mother Popcorn" were taken from a radio broadcast of a Boston performance on March 20, 1973. Background The design of the album is intended to ape the poor production values offered by contemporary bootleg records, even going so far as to give an incorrect track listing: the song "Draw the Line" is included on the record but does not appear listed; the track is a secret track after "Mother Popcorn". The album also features a secret live instrumental cover of "Strangers in the Night" inserted into their cover of "Train Kept A-Rollin'", which was probably a nod to a similar quote by Jimi Hendrix during " Wild Thing" at the Monterey Pop Festival. The back of the CD cover includes two coffee stains over the picture of Joe Perry playing before a live audience. The original LP cover ...

The Very Best Of Aerosmith
''Devil's Got a New Disguise: The Very Best of Aerosmith'' (known in the UK as ''The Very Best of Aerosmith'') is a compilation album by American hard rock band Aerosmith released on October 17, 2006. It has sold more than 265,048 copies in the U.S. as of May 2008. The album was intended to fulfill Aerosmith's contract with Sony Music/Columbia Records until a release of a new studio album, the first since 2001's ''Just Push Play'' but ultimately did not surface. However the long-awaited new album, ''Music from Another Dimension!'', was finally released in November 2012. Aerosmith had hoped to spend much of 2006 recording material for a new album, but the band had been hit with a number of setbacks during the year, including lead singer Steven Tyler requiring throat surgery in March 2006, bassist Tom Hamilton recovering from treatment for throat cancer, and conflict with their record company. Thus, as the band had been robbed of adequate time to create a quality album, they opt ...

O, Yeah! Ultimate Aerosmith Hits
''O, Yeah! Ultimate Aerosmith Hits'' is a greatest hits album by American hard rock band Aerosmith, released in 2002 by Columbia Records and Geffen Records. A double-disc album, it includes 27 of the band's biggest hits in chronological order and spans the band's entire career up to 2002 (although it omits any material from the three albums they recorded between 1979-1985). Also included are a guest appearance on Run-DMC's cover of "Walk This Way" and two new songs, "Girls of Summer" and "Lay It Down", which the band recorded in Hawaii. ''O, Yeah!'' has since been certified double platinum. Noticeable on the corners of album cover are the different variations of the Aerosmith logo used throughout the band's career. ''O, Yeah!'' was re-released as ''The Essential Aerosmith'' on September 13, 2011. The album cover was changed, with a more straightforward profile picture of the band being used, and a limited edition bonus disc with six additional tracks was released, otherwise the tr ...
